In chapter 14, Shinno from the past faces the current Shinnosuke, and he runs away with Aoi to the forest. Both of them are seen falling from the sky, quite similar to what we saw in the “Weathering with You” film.

Mangaka Yaeko Ninagawa (Ghost Slayers Ayashi), who has drawn the previous chapters, will be drawing the final chapter as well.

The original film was released in Japanese theatres in October 2019. It is the third work set in Okada’s hometown of Chichibu, after Anohana and The Anthem of the Heart.

The manga’s ending will be similar to what happened in the film, with Shinnosuke promising Akane that he won’t give up on her.
