Chapter 220 of World Trigger begins with the Suwa squad looking at their scores from the last two days and being low-key impressed. The most impressive thing about their performance was the assignment that Megane and Ui wrote.
Katori is suspicious of how well the Mizukami squad is doing and thinks they’re up to something. Suwa believes there is something suspicious here, too, and says he’s got his own ideas about that.
Megane thinks Suwa definitely knows something that they don’t. Will they find out soon?

Suwa’s squad seems to think that it’s odd how Mizukami’s squad has been at the top for two consecutive days. Katori believes they have some sneaky trick up their sleeve.
While Suwa doesn’t confirm her suspicion, he also doesn’t deny, and instead, he says he’s got his own ideas about that one. There is something fishy going on here.
Some fans, including me, think that all of this could be connected to Oji’s theory that their scores are unimportant. Hopefully, it’ll be shown in the next chapter.

Suwa’s squad gets to know that they placed second to last. Today’s scores show that they’re in fourth place. Suwa says Megane and Ui’s universal assignment impacted their score.
Mizukami’s squad retains the top position. Wakamura’s squad is dead last. Katori points out that the points they earn in battle sims tomorrow will be doubled so they need to catch up.
Megane points out that they can see the data from the enemy units they faced, but their stats are hidden. The Mizukami squad aren’t doing anything too different in the battle sims, but they’re pulling ahead in other categories.
Katori thinks the Mizukami squad is pulling some trick on them. Suwa says something similar and Megane thinks he’s onto something. In Murakami’s squad, Hiyami asks Murakami to ask her about her ideas for the next assignment.
When asked, Hiyami suggests that Kurauchi write their next assignment and Kuma can handle his units in battle. Murakami says they’ll go with that plan.
In Utagawa’s squad, Kuga is asked if he thinks Wakamura’s team is tough. Kuga says Hyuse has got a read on all his moves. Losing Kotaro didn’t work out in their favor either.
In Oji’s squad, Tsuji asks Ikoma to take their battle sims seriously. Of course, that doesn’t work. Obishima asks Oji what he thinks, and he says he’s satisfied with the fun they’ve had. He thinks the top brass don’t care about the scores they get, and he’s probably right.
What the judges are looking for is probably problem-solving and resourcing skills. Tsuji’s still worried about their performance at the battle sims.
Kodera praises Kitora for her assignment, but she’s upset because it only got 82 points. A teammate suggests she send her answers to Azuma next time for an honest review.
