Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey Ends up in Rotten Tomatoes’ list of 100 All-Time Worst Films

The recently released Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey ran in theaters only for a week but still earned a considerable profit at the box office, making $4 million against the $100K budget. But despite its commercial well-doing, the film was slammed by critics and audiences as one of the worst films ever.

Rotten Tomatoes has now officially added the film to its list of top 100 all-time worst films, where it sits at #97, just below Scary Movie 5. The film has scored a low rating of 4% after accumulating 53 reviews on the review aggregator, thus earning its rightful place in the list.

And there’s no foul play involved since the entire list doesn’t feature any films with less than 20 reviews, so as to spare low-budget films with small marketing the embarrassment of landing on this list.

Typically, ending up on a list of the worst films ever does no good for any production; Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s indie slasher, though, can only benefit from entering this infamous list. Rotten Tomatoes list is chockful of horror films that didn’t cut it for the critics, whether due to performance, story, or direction. But many of the horror genre’s fans tend to watch movies disliked by critics. The 4% rating of Blood & Honey is also still reasonable compared to the majority of the movies on the list, with a 0-3% rating.

The film is not going to win any awards, but the cheering fans might help Rhys finalize other projects featuring other childhood characters in the darkest setting possible. The indie director already plans to redo Bambi and Peter Pan’s story to include darker and bloodier aspects.
