Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey’s Theatrical Release Extended to a Week

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is just a month away from its nationwide premiere, and now Fathom Events has upped the stakes for the 2023 slasher. What was supposed to be a one-day release has now been changed to a week thanks to the rising demand for the horror genre.

This year and 2022 have been quite successful for horror flicks with films like Smile, M3gan, and more turning into box office successes. Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s debut film with its unique premise and gory promises has raised the bar for these films. Thus, Fathom Events will now run the film in 1500 theaters nationwide, from February 15 to February 23.

The decision to go from a day to a week is bound to spell major success for the film which has already got a huge fanbase off of promotional images and a sole trailer. Read Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt’s statement pertaining to the expansion below:

Christopher and Mary Robin

This film has been on our radar for several months and audience engagement continues to increase at remarkable rates. We’re excited about our inaugural partnership with ITN to bring horror fans something never seen before in the horror genre. Buckle up.

Drake-Waterfield is betting on his directorial debut’s success since he already has more childhood characters in the remaking. The writer/director is currently working on revamping Bambi and Peter Pan into the same blood-soaked psychopaths and monsters like he did with Pooh and Piglet.

With only a month left for the 2023 slasher’s premiere, the followers are grateful for the extra dates, but only time will tell how far the horror film’s box office income would go.
