Willow Season 1 Episode 5: Release Date, Recap, and Speculation

Bavmorda may have died nearly two decades ago, but her castle’s eerie vibes and magic tricks are still strong enough to disrupt Willow and his fellow adventurers’ stay. The group’s night at Nockmoor was lively enough to entice a full-fledged spell from the magic-learning Elora to heal Graydon.

The Crone is on their track, asking the Lich and Scourge to kill the group, save Elora. Kit learns her grandmother wasn’t always evil, and her transition came from a cult called The Order of the Worm. The episode also teases Airk’s whereabouts, but where it actually is will hopefully be disclosed in the next episode.

Episode 5 Synopsis/Speculation

In the upcoming episode, we expect to see some questions answered or at least get a better explanation. Let’s go through some of them!

Willow may say Elora is the worst apprentice ever, but we think she is coming along nicely with her studying. We expect to see more from her in the coming episodes.

Graydon’s demeanor is as sweet as they come, but the flashback where he pushes his brother off a tree suggests he has a hidden dark side. We can’t judge him based on his behavior in this week’s episode since a demon possessed him, but hopefully, the upcoming episodes will shine a light on his hidden side.

Kit and Jade’s romance has taken a back burner after Ballantine’s death, but we hope to see more of it in the following episodes. Speaking of Kit, we definitely need more on the vision explaining Bavmorda’s allegiance with the Crone, the dark line connecting the princess and her lineage, and The Order of the Worm, which the next episode should elaborate on.

Airk finally shows up after his kidnapping, but which city’s ruins he finds himself in is as much of a mystery to us as it is to him. We’ll know his exact whereabouts in next week’s episode.

The Crone has put a death nail atop the group’s head, making their travels at least twice more dangerous. The upcoming episode will also highlight how that will impact their journey.

Episode 4 Recap

Willow Season 1 Episode 5: Release Date, Recap, and Speculation
Possessed Graydon

The group arrives at Nockmoor and sets up camp to find a way to heal Graydon before he reaches the same fate as Ballantine. Jade mourns her mentor’s death while the rest try to help Willow in his spell to exorcise Graydon.

The group splits to find the ingredients but faces separate hurdles – Kit hears her grandmother and sets a tapestry on fire, Jade sees traumatizing visions of her dead family, and Boorman believes he’s trapped without his prized possession.

Elora stays with Graydon, and though the apprentice repeats her heart is Airk’s, Graydon holds onto the hope that she’ll change her mind. Kit’s vision tells her of Bavmorda’s allegiance to the Crone and her dissent from the dark line of the Blood of the Six.

Elora experiences visions of her childbirth and her mother’s subsequent death. Still possessed, Graydon tricks her into the High Tower, trying to finish the ceremony that started all those years back. The group joins forces, and after an ego boost from Kit, Elora frees Graydon from the demonic influence of the Lich.

Meanwhile, The Crone tasks the Lich and Scourge to kill the group except for Elora, and Airk finds himself awake in a city of ruins.
