Everything We Know About Modern Love Season 3

If there’s a show that has tackled modern love and romantic relationships in a very balanced way, it should be Amazon’s Modern Love. The anthology is heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.

After two seasons of some wholesome stories (which aren’t always necessarily romantic, btw) based on the New York Times column of the same name, I could not help but wonder if there’s more coming up. In other words, will there be another season?

It turns out that there isn’t too much we know yet. But for all of you who are wondering when Modern Love will return with another set of stories for us, here’s everything we know about a potential season 3!

Will There be a Season 3?

As of writing this article, there is no official confirmation about the renewal of Modern Love for season 3. Whether we will get a season 3 depends on whether Amazon will renew it. As of now, there is no official confirmation.

But that does not mean you lose hope. Prime may end up renewing it for another season after all. It all depends on availability of the potential cast and crew, popularity and other various factors. Also, Prime takes a while in these things.

Don’t expect it to be as fast as Netflix!

Considering the amount of time it took for season 1 and 2 to arrive on Amazon since when it was announced, I must warn you, even if Modern Love is renewed for a season 3, it might take a while for it to premiere.

There’s the casting, filming, scripting, post-production, you know the usual deal. So that will take time. It’s not been too long since we got season 2. So we can wait for a while to see if it gets renewed for season 3 anytime soon.

When will it Release?

If at all Modern Love is renewed for a season 3, then it might take as long as late 2022 or early 2023 for it to premiere.

I am saying this keeping in mind the earlier production timeline for the show. Season 1 was announced by Amazon back in June 2018, but the series only premiered in October 2019. So it took almost a year.

According to reports, Prime renewed the show for a season 2 just a week after season 1 arrived. Considering all the covid related to delays, it obviously could not release before August 2021.

But even then, it took roughly a year for it to arrive. So keeping in mind this timeline, even if the show gets renewed in 2021, it will not premiere before late 2022.

All of this is my two cents based on sheer speculation. We don’t have any official confirmation or potential dates for Modern Love season 3 yet, so you have to make do with me rambling as of now!

What will Season 3 be About?

Prime is taking its own sweet time to renew the show and even confirm that there will be another season, and here we are, wondering what storylines season 3 can explore. But do I mind? NO!

Here’s something exciting. There’s a lot of material and fresh new story ideas in The New York Times’ “Modern Love” series (which the show is based on) for the makers to bring to us on screen.

The column debuted back in 2004, so there’s plenty of material left to adapt. So no complaints there.

I am guessing the show will follow the same anthology format with each episode telling the story of different people with various kinds of experience.

There’s a lot to explore about love and relationships, so I still have hope that Modern Love will return to make us smile once again.
