Hijack episode 6, titled “Comply Slowly” reveals that Sam’s son, Kai, has temporarily been able to protect himself from two Cheapside Firm members dressed as cleaners. However, there’s very little time left for him, and he is in danger. Things are not looking good for Kai.
In the previous episode, we saw two mysterious men pretending to be cleaners entering Sam’s house and looking for Kai, who was hiding upstairs. Meanwhile, Sam was struggling to save the lives of the passengers on the plane while his own son’s life remained in danger.
In episode 6, Kai overhears the cleaners saying that his father, Sam, is the reason for all the trouble. So, they need to stay in his house and threaten the lives of his family. This further proves that Kai’s life is in danger.
However, Kai manages to sneak downstairs and contact the police. He whispers on the call, so the operator cannot understand him. But things fall into place, and the units are on their way in the episode.
Kai might still be in danger now, and his fate will only be clear in the season finale, which is set to air on August 2, 2023. As of now, it is not clear whether Kai escapes or is saved. He is still not completely out of danger.
Meanwhile, the British government releases Edgar Janssen and John Bailey-Brown from prison as per the hijackers’ demand but secretly follows them with a drone and a hacked GPS. Edgar warns them that he will order his men to kill more passengers on Flight KA29 if they are tracked. He proves his threat by sending a photo of Sheena Francis, a woman who was shot earlier.
On the plane, Sam tries to prevent more deaths by convincing Stuart and Jaime to use Sheena’s photo instead of killing another person. He also passes a message to the other passengers to prepare for a fight against the hijackers.
However, one of the hijackers, Jaden, discovers the message and alerts Stuart, who decides to kill Sam. Sam reveals that he is the father of Lewis, Stuart’s brother, who died in prison. Stuart hesitates to shoot Sam, but Jaime takes over and pulls the trigger.
It is not clear whether Sam survives or dies. The Hijack finale will answer all our questions in due time.
