The White Lotus episode 5 was about not just Armond going behind Shane to redeem himself but also about Belinda going behind Tanya to talk about their massage clinic. But Tanya’s mind is elsewhere, wondering if Greg will ever like her if he truly knew her.
So will things escalate real quick between the two? Will Belinda be frustrated to the point where she just decides to kill Tanya?
The show hasn’t revealed who will die, but Belinda killing Tanya is highly unlikely. Belinda is the only character who is nicer than the lot. She’s the most empathetic of all characters, and her killing Tanya or anyone else is pretty improbable.
Throughout the show, we’ve seen all characters have some sort of dark shades. But there is an exception to this trope as well. The exception is called Belinda. Here are a few things that point to that.
When Tanya first stepped into the resort and wanted an impromptu massage appointment, Belinda was kind enough to give her so much more. She made her feel better about herself and, for a few moments, gave her the respite she needed from the mid-life crisis Tanya’s going through.
If that wasn’t enough, she decided to accompany Tanya while she scattered her mom’s ashes into the sea. It might be partially because Belinda sees a potential investor in Tanya, but even so, she didn’t look worn out by Tanya’s behavior but just felt sad for her.
Perhaps the second reason is strong enough to showcase Belinda’s empathy. So no matter how much Tanya goes back and forth on her promise, Belinda won’t kill her. The worst-case scenario for Belinda is that Tanya will leave the resort after her vacation ends, and she goes back to her same old life as a masseur. But this time, it would just prick to be in a place that doesn’t deserve her.
I don’t think so. She seems to be on her way to getting out of the mid-life crisis she’s in. Furthermore, Greg doesn’t walk out despite her trying to push him away, though it might just be for the sex. Irrespective of that, Tanya’s life doesn’t have any fatal threats lurking like in other characters’ cases.
In Tanya’s case, the worst-case scenario would be that she walks out of the resort the way she came in. Still being devoured by her problems, self-image issues, and trying to figure a way out of everything!
The White Lotus season finale premieres this Sunday, and I can’t wait to find out who dies in the show. Why does that sound so sadistic? I guess I’m watching too much of the show!
