“Why Nobody Remembers My World” is a Japanese light novel series written by Kei Sazane with illustrations by neco. It was published under Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint from July 2017 to August 2020. An anime adaptation is set to premiere in 2024.
The novels center on an era in which humans, led by the hero Cid, won the great war between the five races competing for supremacy on Earth. However, that world gets “overwritten” in front of a boy named Kai. Dragons and demons rule the earth in the overwritten world, and humans lose the great war without the hero Cid. The boy Kai, who all humans also forget, decides to reclaim the “true world” after meeting a mysterious girl named Rinne.
