Sandra Bullock to Go on a Hiatus to Focus on Family

Sandra Bullock shone at the SXSW Film Festival on Saturday during the debut of her new romantic adventure film, The Lost City—but it’s about to be the end of an era for the actress.

While talking to ET about the next step in her acting career, Bullock revealed that she’d be stepping back for a while to focus on other important things in her life, aka, her kids and family.

Although the actress did not reveal how long she’d be gone for, she did add that for now, she needs to be “in the place that makes me happiest.”

As acting requires all of her energy at all times, Bullock talked about wanting to spend that time with her kids, Louis, 12, and Laila, 10, instead,

I take my job very seriously when I’m at work. And I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family. That’s where I’m gonna be for a while… Servicing their every need… their social calendar.

However, Bullock has nothing but love for the cinemas, as during a Q&A after The Lost City’s premiere, she stated her relief at the audience’s reaction. (via Variety)

It was the first time seeing it with an audience. In post-production, everything was Zoom, everything was virtual, everything was in little cubes and you just had to pray. Seeing it in a theater is a reminder of why we love the theatre.

The film, directed by Aaron and Adam Nee, also stars Daniel Radcliffe, Channing Tatum, and Brad Pitt.
