He is relatively easy to build by equipping him with the Marechaussee Hunter Artifact Set. However, his team flexibility sets him apart and makes him the fifth-best choice on this list.

Firstly, Lyney relies on charging up his shots, which require careful aiming without any interruptions from opponents. To achieve this, he needs a shielder, usually Zhongli. Secondly, he can only be used in mono-Pyro teams, as his passive skill gives him a damage bonus when opponents are affected by Pyro, making him unsuitable for reaction-based teams.

Overall, Lyney has an enjoyable playstyle and is worth obtaining, provided you are not bothered by the above-mentioned limitations.

4. Xiangling

Xiangling is a great Pyro SUB-DPS character, and she is highly versatile and free-to-play, which makes her ideal for almost any team and character combination.

The best thing about him is that he requires minimal investment in artifacts and weapons. You can easily get the 4-piece Nobless Oblige set, and for his stats, focus on stacking as much HP and ENERGY RECHARGE as possible. Regarding weapons, prioritize the one with a high BASE ATTACK or ENERGY RECHARGE. 

Now we know he is a five-star character disguised as a four-star unit (pun intended).

2. Hu Tao

For almost two years after its release, Hu Tao reigned at the top. She is a robust Pyro-polearm DPS unit that scales off HP, which makes things interesting.

HP is a stat considered easily achievable in artifacts, and a DPS character scaling off HP makes it easier to build. You can use the Crimson Witch of Flames set or any 2-pc-2pc HP, Pyro DMG Bonus, or EM artifacts. For weapons, Dragons Bane is her best free-to-play option, aside from the 5-star crit weapons.

What makes her insane is her charge attack (CA) DMG multipliers, which have some of the highest vaporize damage in the game. However, there was an issue with her CA, as it drained a lot of stamina, making it difficult for players to use.

The solution to this problem was Constellation 1, which reduced her stamina consumption. However, getting her C1 can be a bit difficult for non-spenders. Another option was jump-dash cancel, a skill that is very difficult to handle. 

However, with the release of Furina and Xianyun, Hu Tao players found a new fun way to play her. She can be used in various plunge and reaction teams, making her one of the best units in Genshin.

Arlecchino is currently the most powerful Pyro-DPS character in Genshin Impact, starting from Version 4.6. She’s also the only character in the game built around the unique BOND OF LIFE (BOL) mechanic. Despite this, it doesn’t have much effect on her gameplay since her Normal Attacks deal the damage. 

With her impressive area of effect, she can fit into various team compositions, such as Mono Pyro, Vaporize, Melt, Overload, or even solo. The only drawback is that she can’t be healed by any other character when her BOL is active, making her vulnerable. The only options left is to dodge or use strong support with interruption resistance and shield.

One significant advantage of Arlecchino is that she’s highly accessible to free-to-play players. Although the new Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy set is her best artifact, the Gladiator set works just as well and can be obtained easily as it’s been around since the game’s release. 

If you don’t have a decent CRIT polearm, either 4-star or 5-star, the White Tassle (3-star polearm) is surprisingly effective for her. It’s also easy to obtain; you just need to explore and open chests to get multiple copies. Overall, Arlecchino is more versatile and beginner-friendly than any other Pyro DPS character.
