Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Revisiting the Saved Padawan in Season 1

Star Wars fans are in for a treat in 2023, with multiple shows coming to Disney+ this year. Even though the calendar just changed, patience is already running thin – but worry not, for The Bad Batch will return with Season 2 on January 4 with a dual-episode premiere.

The animated series hit the streaming platform in 2021 as a spinoff of Star Wars: Clone Wars. The TV series features the journey of Clone Force 99, who went against the empire when Order 66 was executed, and their adventures across the galaxy.

Their will to challenge the Empire was the spark the rebellion needed to set fire to the system, but their choice to revolt had a more direct effect. After all, the Bad Batch saved a young Padawan from the Purge, who would become a vital figure of the Rebel Alliance.

Let us refresh your memory about the young Padawan who Hunter saves in episode 1 of The Bad Batch season 1. When Crosshair betrays the team by showing his loyalty to the Empire despite their free will, he begins executing the Jedi immediately.

Hunter saves Caleb Dume, the Padawan of Deep Billaba, from Crosshair, who tries to execute Caleb under Order 66. Caleb is the Jedi who grows up to become the decorated rebel leader Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars Rebels.

Yes, the same Kanan Jarrus you know from Star Wars Rebels, the leader of the Ghost Crew and Ezra Bridger’s mentor, who went on to sacrifice his life for the turning point of the Rebel Alliance.
