Where to Find Trolls in God of War Ragnarok: Easy Location Guide

There are only four God of War Ragnarok Troll locations in the entire game. These are the stone statues that transform into boss battles, and there is no way to find them apart from luck or outside knowledge.

  • Midgard Troll statue (Blodugr Steinn)
  • Alfheim Troll statue (Bjarg Stormr)
  • Vanaheim Troll statues (Golrab of the Ashes and Golrab of the Frost)

If you want to go troll hunting, scroll down to see where the trolls are or use the links up above to get there right away. Although you can encounter these trolls in any order, we suggest you follow the one below because that is the order in which they are the most challenging. Although there are a few other trolls in the world, they are not created from the statues and will not provide Slumber Stones for the Steinbjorn armor set.

Midgard Troll Location: Blodugr Steinn

In the southwest portion of the Lake of Nine, adjacent to the Mystical Heirloom, is where you can find the first Troll statue. Find a chain that rises up to the blacksmith’s shop by following the path in the bottom right corner. Beyond that is a choice region connected to a Favor called the Derelict Outpost.

The first Troll, Blodugr Steinn, is directly ahead of you on the right as you vault the first chasm to enter a big, open area full of cranes. To start the battle, approach it and activate the Mystical Heirloom.

Alfheim Troll Location: Bjarg Stormr

The second Troll hideout is located in Alfheim, specifically in the second alternative desert wasteland, which becomes available once you acquire the ally with the key to the blue symbol locks. You can discover the troll statue of Bjarg Stormr in a little arena on the far-western part of the second wasteland, which you should visit. Since the fight with Blodugr wasn’t any tougher than this one, you could probably beat Bjarg if you could take care of Blodugr. The challenging encounter will come after this one.

Vanaheim Troll Location: Golrab of the Ashes and Golrab of the Frost

Yes, there is a single Troll area with two sculptures present, and there is no way to combat them separately. You can visit Noatun’s Garden, an optional riverbank region with various riddles, chests, monsters, and toxic scorn poles, by traveling to Vanaheim and the River Delta, then following it along to the location indicated on the map above. Look at the building to the east to notice the two trolls standing like guards on either side of the door. It’s a small space and they aren’t hidden. Set off the Heirloom to awaken them both and start the battle.

The fact that there are two of them and that the blue Frost Troll is immune to your Leviathan Axe and the red Ash Troll is immune to your Chaos Blades make this the toughest battle. Additionally, with so many Scorn Poles nearby, it’s all too simple to roll around and back up into a cloud of poison. Instead of attempting to kill both of them at once, we advise concentrating on Golrab of the Ashes with the axe first because it is better suited to one-on-one combat. Once you have brought it down, you should devote your whole attention to the other enemy. Our second Golrab really followed us to the riverboat, hopped on it, glitched out, and died with only 25% of its health remaining, proving that, in a situation, you can always try to convince it to walk on a dangerous canoe.

GOD OF WAR RAGNAROK TROLL STATUE REWARDS AND ARMOR

Even the unfrozen trolls you battle during the campaign won’t drop the Slumber Stones, which are the main reward that each Troll is unique in giving out. The Steinbjorn armor, a strong contender for the Strongest Armor with some of the best stats for pure defense in the game that actually benefits from getting struck, is made from these stones that have no other utility than forging. You only need to kill all the Trolls and their Slumber Stones to create the whole set, the specifics of which are as follows (in their most basic form):

Steinbjorn Plackart (chest)

  • 123 Defense
  • After significant damage is taken, Kratos’ attacks will restore some lost health for a time.

Steinbjorn Gauntlets (wrist):

  • 22 Strength
  • 55 Defense
  • Moderate LUCK chance to stagger and inflict stun damage to nearby enemies when damage is taken.

Steinbjorn Waist Guard (waist):

  • 77 Defense
  • Moderate LUCK chance to stagger and inflict stun damage to nearby enemies when damage is taken.

It is a tanky armor gear that is worn to make getting punched less unpleasant. The Momentous Stride Amulet Enchantment, which charges your Permafrost/Immolation/Maelstrom skill gauges when you pull off a last-second dodge, is another reward for killing the Trolls.
