Obtaining the Great Sword ‘Oblivion’ in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

The way that weapons and armor are handled in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has changed.

As you explore and trade, you will only come across a few unique sets of gear, unlike Odyssey and Origins, but each weapon and piece of armor can be enhanced and upgraded multiple times to improve its performance.

Every weapon and shield has a unique passive skill that passive skill can further improve with runes inserted. Armor can gain bonuses from the completed set if similar gear is worn together.

There are two ways to obtain the great sword ‘Oblivion’ in Assasin’s Creed Valhalla. You can either buy the moonlight weapon pack using real money or try your luck at Reda’s shop. It’ll be available in daily items to be bought using opals.

Where can you obtain Oblivion in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

I. Buying the Moonlight Weapon Pack

For Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, there is a downloadable content pack called The Moonlight Weapon Pack. The pack contains four weapons for Eivor Varinsdottir and is available for 1000 Helix Credits in the Helix Store. This set includes Daybreak, Pale Gloam, Oblivion, and Crescent Moon.

You can access the pack by first:

  1. Open the Main Menu while playing AC Valhalla.
  1. Go to the Store and open the Packs section.
  1. Find the Moonlight Weapon pack and buy it.

While this option requires real currency, there is a chance for players to acquire Oblivion through the in-game currency.

II. Buying Oblivion in Reda’s shop

You can also obtain Oblivion from Reda’s Shop in their weekly selections for 120 opals. Reda sells seven rotating items on a daily and weekly basis. The item rotates daily at 8 AM MST/7 AM PT. The Weekly items Reda sells change on Tuesdays at 7 AM MST/6 AM PT.

Reda’s Shop is an outdoor marketplace in Ravensthorpe where you can buy items from a constantly-changing inventory, such as armor and mounts.

After you complete the primary story mission, “Heavy is the Head,” Reda and a colleague of his show up in your Settlement. There is no way to make this merchant appear earlier than this in the game.

North of the dock, in the center of the path’s fork, is where this vendor’s stall can be found. When you first speak with Reda, the “Viking for Hire” quest will become available. Moreover,

Reda will give you 50 Opals.

There you have it! You can now finally use Oblivion and conquer your enemies on the battlefield.

Is Oblivion an effective weapon in AC Valhalla?

Oblivion is a two-handed great sword wielded by Eivor, dedicated to the gods of the sun and moons. It’s a heavy sword that can deal massive damage and cause a sleep effect in the right conditions.

Its description is as follows:

‘Those slain by this weapon are rumored to return to nothingness, to forever await Máni’s fate at the hands of his pursuer’.

Oblivion the Great Sword

It’s an incredibly well-designed sword with an attractive perk. With every Heavy attack, it stacks up till the counter hits 5, and once the conditions are met, the next Heavy attack puts the enemy to sleep. The cooldown timer lasts 15s.

Why should I buy ‘Oblivion’ on AC Valhalla?

Oblivion is a weapon with beautiful aesthetics to its design as well as it’s a weapon that can deal massive damage, owing to its greatsword classification. Its perk is also effective in subduing enemies in a quick and timely fashion.

Other weapons that are similar in class are the Sutr sword and Excalibur, both highly damaging weapons with their own perks but Oblivion in my personal opinion, is in a league of its own, owing to its enormous stat in damage dealt.
