Where to find Dammon the blacksmith? Baldur’s Gate 3 Location Guide

Baldur’s Gate 3 features a lot of unique NPCs, and Dammon, a Tiefling smith, is one of them. What makes him so important is the fact that you’ll need to visit him multiple times throughout Karlach’s companion quest, The Hellion’s Heart, to complete it. The catch is that he changes locations in every act, so he can be a bit hard to find.

Dammon can be found in the Hollow (X:178, Y:563), an area adjacent to Emerald Grove in Act 1. In Act 2, players can locate him in the stables at the Last Light Inn (X:33, Y:165), and in Act 3, he can be found at the Forge of the Nine in the city of Baldur’s Gate.

Before you begin your search for him, keep in mind that he can die in battle, so do your best to protect him when the opportunity arises. He can also be killed, but I really don’t suggest it since doing so will prevent you from finishing Karlach’s quest, which means you’ll never be able to complete it.

Be sure to collect some Infernal Iron while doing this quest, as Dammon will need this material to help Karlach repair her infernal engine. You’ll need two pieces of Infernal Iron to repair the engine, and even though infernal iron is a rather rare material, it is abundantly available, and by the time you finish the quest, you should have plenty of it.

1. Is Karlach romanceable in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Where to find Dammon in Baldur's Gate 3? Location Guide
Karlach – Baldur’s Gate 3

Karlach is indeed romanceable in Baldur’s Gate 3. All you need to do is simply side with her at every opportunity and earn her approval. To gain a higher approval rating and have greater chances of romancing her, do these things:

  1. Side with the Tieflings instead of the goblins.
  2. Protect and defend her and other Tieflings at every opportunity.
  3. Always act morally and stand up for what’s right.
  4. Commit heroic deeds.

She has a condition that makes her skin extremely hot, burning everything, she touches. This is where Dammon comes in, as he can repair her Infernal Engine and cool her skin using Infernal Iron. Earn a high approval rating from her and help her in her journey to cure her skin condition, and you have yourself a flaming hot girlfriend, literally.

2. How to recruit Hirelings in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Hirelings Can Be Recruited From Withers – Baldur’s Gate 3

Hirelings in Baldur’s Gate 3 can be recruited by finding Withers in the Dark Crypt and freeing him from his sarcophagus so that he can get to your camp. He’ll offer you a number of services once he’s in your camp, and hiring a Hireling is one of them.

Hirelings are essentially companions that you can permanently recruit and dismiss, and they aid you whenever you need their services. There are a total of 12 Hirelings that can be recruited, one from each class, and each one of them costs 100 gold. You’ll also need an open slot in your party to hire one as a member.

Here’s a list of all 12 available Hirelings:

  1. Eldra Luthrinn: Barbarian
  2. Bard
  3. Cleric
  4. Druid
  5. Fighter
  6. Monk
