Although the series has been available on VHS tapes, DVD and Blu-ray, horror fans will now be able to watch it at their convenience, as these copies are often hard to get one’s hands on.

Freddy’s Nightmares follows the original Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) from the film’s franchise, and each episode tells a different story in the fictitious town on Elm Street.

It picks up where the films left off, with the pilot episode acting as a prequel to 1984’s A Nightmare on Elm Street.

The series managed to bring back not only Englund but also other notable stars, including Brad Pitt, Lori Petty, John Cameron Mitchell, and Mariska Hargitay.

Screambox is available to stream on iOS, Android, Prime Video, YouTube TV, Comcast, and the streaming service’s website.

About Freddy’s Nightmares

Freddy’s Nightmares (also known as A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Series) is an American horror anthology television series, which aired from October 1988 until March 1990.

The series was produced by New Line Television, producers of the film series, and Stone Television. It was originally distributed by Lorimar-Telepictures. Afterwards, Warner Bros. Television would assume syndication rights after acquiring Lorimar-Telepictures in 1989.

The A Nightmare on Elm Street spinoff had each episode introduced by Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), and featured two different stories, with eight of them throughout the series actually having Freddy Krueger as the main antagonist. The different stories of a dark rooted and/or grim nature took place in the fictitious Elm Street in Springwood, Ohio.
