What is Talk no Jutsu? Can Boruto use Talk no Jutsu?

Just last month, I wrote an article on hand signs and Jutsu’s in Naruto, and later realized that I forgot to mention one of the most effective Jutsus ever!

That’s right; I did not include Talk No Jutsu, a technique highly regarded by everyone in the series, and something one can only hope to learn.

This great technique has also carved a place for itself in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations as Naruto’s son has inherited it along with his father’s semblance.

Will he be able to master it just as Naruto did? All these questions will be answered below, as Talk No Jutsu deserves its very own article. So, here we go!

1. What Is Talk No Jutsu?

Talk no Jutsu is a technique that changes the opponent’s idealogy and purges them of their evil and depressive thoughts. It conveniently makes them understand the user and want to become a better person in life.

The creator of Naruto, Kishimoto, confirmed this Jutsu’s legitimacy and ranked it as the most powerful technique of all time.

2. Who Can Use Talk No Jutsu?

This jutsu was first used by Iruka Umino when he tried to save Naruto even though the latter was blamed for the death of his parents.

At this moment, Naruto learned Talk No Jutsu and grew to form a monstrous talent in it. However, as it turns out, Iruka was not the first one to use this technique.

Centuries before, Asura Otsutsuki and his incarnation Hashirama were both known as proficient users in this and managed to change the hearts of many adversaries.

Furthermore, even Kushina was supposed to have a knack for it, which was passed down onto Naruto.

It is quite possible that what he inherited was this Talk No Jutsu legacy passed down from ancient times.

From the time he has learned this, he has seen an almost near-perfect rate of success.

He used it for the first time on Zabuza and made the “Demon of the Hidden Mist” cry and kill himself.

From then on, even the strongest of opponents such as Nagato, Obito, Kurama, and even Sasuke.

However, the question is, has his son inherited Talk No Jutsu?

3. Can Boruto Use Talk No Jutsu?

A fruit never falls far from the tree. Boruto can use Talk No Jutsu that he has inherited from his father, and while it has not fully developed, there’s a lot of potential.

He was first seen using this technique when he changed Sumire Kakei’s mind, who originally wanted to destroy Konoha Village by using Nue. From that time on, he has used it multiple times, most notably on a rampaging Naruto.

Naruto Release His Strongest Jutsu

However, unlike his father, there’s one main reason why Boruto’s Talk No Jutsu feels shallow.

From the very beginning, Naruto suffered and underwent a lot of hardship. He had to claw his way to become strong and acknowledged by others.

Due to this, even his enemies respected him and understood where he was coming from.

In Boruto’s case, he has lived a sheltered life, where his only problem is that his father doesn’t spend much time with his family.

He is already strong and popular among his friends and the village, in general. Due to this, he often seems like an immature kid and makes it harder for others to relate to or take him seriously.

It seems that the creators will have to try a bit harder to impress the fans who have witnessed Naruto’s iconic Talk No Jutsu.

As the anime progresses, we will see whether it stays true to its name. Will the new generations surpass the old? From what we’ve witnessed so far, probably not.

4. About Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
