Medali gym’s secret dish puzzle is one of the most confusing puzzles in Scarlet and Violet. Though Pokemon fans are no strangers to gym puzzles, this particular puzzle might be a bit challenging to solve.
Once you enter the Medali Gym, you will be given the task of ordering the secret menu item from Treasure Eatery. After finishing this task, you can finally fight the gym leader of Medali Gym who specializes in normal-type Pokemon.
Medali Gym’s Secret Dish is called Fire Blast style medium-sized grilled rice balls, with lemon. You can get this dish by either trying random dish combos at Treasure Eatery, or by getting clues regarding the dish from NPCs in the town.
Steps to get the secret dish in Scarlet and Violet
I recommend getting the clues for the dish from the NPCs. Follow these steps to get the clues and get your gym badge!
Clue 1: Lemon
Head over to Treasure Eatery and talk to the office worker wearing a suit. His name is Larry. Ask him how locals season their dishes.
Larry will offer you a tip in response. He tells you, “A nice squeeze of lemon gives any dish a refreshing kick”. Your first clue is lemon.
Clue 2: Grilled Rice Balls
Walk to the center of the city, and you will find an NPC called Adara. Battle him, and he will give you a hint: “Find the odd one out at one of the ice cream stands”.
Check the menu of all the nearby ice cream stands, and you will find ‘Grilled Rice Balls’ as the odd-one-out item.
Clue 3: Fire Blast style
Battle an NPC called Gisela near the stairs of the Amphitheater. She will give you a hint: ‘A dark spot surrounded by stairs’.
Go to the semicircular stairs near the Pokemon Center in Medali. These stairs will lead to a grated door. Examine the door, and you will get the ‘Fire Blast’ clue.
Clue 4: Medium serving
Head back to the city and fight an NPC named Santiago. He will drop the following hint, ‘Listen closely to the Blue Bird Pokemon’.
You will find a man by the roadside with blue Squawkabilly on his head. The bird will keep saying ‘Meedyum! Meedyum!’ That’s your last clue: medium serving.
After you gather all the clues, order medium grilled rice balls in fire blast style, seasoned with lemon. Once you solve this puzzle, you can finally challenge the Medali Gym leader in a battle.
