In the recent episode of the Plunderer Anime series, Lynn and other’s lives are in danger after Taketora sees a Ballot drop from Hina’s bag.
Taketora is angered after seeing the Ballot because it signifies the destruction of Althea that they, the Red Barons, worked hard to create. What exactly the Ballots signify as well as the origin behind them is explained in the article below.
1. What is a Ballot? (Quick answer)
The Ballots, also known as “Original Ballots“, are seven mysterious balls with numbers that are said to be created by the “God”.
300 years ago, some nations used the Ballots to approve the use of nuclear weapons and began the Abandonment War earlier.
The instructors of the 13th Special Military Forces School ordered the Red Barons to collect all seven Ballots to stop the war.
After the Barons completed their mission, the instructors used the Ballots to create a sky island. After the end of the Abandonment War, four of the Ballots were kept at a Special Service faction and the other three were left in Alexandrov Grigorovich’s hand.
2. What is the origin of a Ballot?
It’s not known how the Ballot was created, although it’s said to have been created by either God or someone with supernatural powers during the Nuclear War.
300 years ago, some nations used the Ballots to approve the use of nuclear weapons and began the Abandonment War earlier, shown when a soldier started the war and used the nuclear bomb on Japan.
The instructors of the 13th Special Military Forces School ordered the Red Barons to collect all seven Ballots to stop the war. After the Barons completed their mission, the instructors used the Ballots to create a sky island and the Abandonment War finally ended and the sky island was named Althea.
After the Abandonment War ended, four of the Ballots were kept at a Special Service faction and the other three were left in Alexandrov Grigorovich’s hand. Although 5 years ago, one of the Ballots was stolen by Tsukina Farrow from the Special Service and is now in Hina’s hand.
During a coup d’etat, Alexandrov was accused of murdering Charles De Bergt Althea The 11th, and gave all of his Ballots to Licht Bach. Then Sakai Tokikaze defeated Licht, took three Ballots from him.R
3. What is the function of a Ballot?
Ballots can be used for the approval of a new law, which is known as ‘Althing’. Althing can also grant one wish once a person has collected all seven Ballots. A bizarre side effect of this results in people who’ve received the majority votes from Althing to stop aging.
Althing is the noblest law in the world and nobody is allowed to go against its rules. If the soldiers stand against the Althing, they will receive the Death Penalty.
Other than the ‘voting ability’ to place new ‘laws’ on the world around it, the Original Ballots could also be used to access and channel the energies of the ‘Althing’ by a compatible user when they hold one.
4. What is a Ballot Replica?
A Ballot Replica simply referred to as Ballot, is a replica of the Ballot created as the main weapons mainly used by the Red Barons and Ballot Holders, which amplifies the user’s power and gives them a special ability. Ballot Replica will only activate once the user sets their count and repeats it by saying ‘Count Authentication’.
Technically, only Barons and high-rank soldiers (Lieutenant and above) are allowed to use Ballot Replica. So any non-soldiers who own a Ballot Replica or one of the Original Ballots will be considered a criminal and receive the Death Penalty.
I. What is a Ballot Count?
Ballot Count is a life system that keeps people alive in Althea, it could define any number related to their life. Count could also lead them to the Abyss when it has dropped to zero.
It can also define as battle power for anyone who owns a Ballot, although this does not include original Ballots which was used for voting.
Anyone who has a higher count has the authority to order anyone with lower counts to do anything they desire. People with lower counts can’t betray people with a higher count’s order. If anyone with a lower count doesn’t want to follow an order, they can challenge other people to battle.
5. What is a Ballot Holder?
A Ballot holder is someone who can use the ballot counts. If a Ballot Holder owns or gets a hold of more than 4 Ballots, then they can do anything, even changing the very laws of nature is not impossible.
6. About Plunderer
Plunderer is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Suu Minazuki. It began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine on December 26, 2014.
The story starts in the 305th year of the Alcian calendar. The world is controlled by seemingly random numbers, with every person owning their own “Count.”
On a more in-depth look, it is discovered that a Count is a number decided by an arbitrary logic. If the Count drops to 0, you’re sent into the Abyss.Originally Written By Epic Dope
