Absolute Duo is like a hidden gem of the anime community. Fans love the series for its unique blend of action, fantasy, and romance and for having the same goal but taking different paths for it.
The anime explores themes of personal growth, friendship, and determination in the face of adversity, creating a compelling narrative that resonates with viewers.
Since the series ended over a decade ago, anime fans are hazy about what happened or have no idea what happened at the end of Absolute Duo.
Well, in this article, I will explain the ending of Absolute Duo. Let’s Get Started!
What Exactly Happens At the End of Absolute Duo?
At the end of Absolute Duo, Tor vows to protect Julie forever and help her control her power. Julie promises to be with him forever, helping him however she can. Tor and Julie’s bond is stronger than ever, with their “Avenger” pact solidified.
The episode begins with Tor, Tora, Lilith, and Juile coming out of the building, celebrating their victory in stopping the attack initiated by the rebels on the academy.
They are quickly interrupted by K, who appears to be in a new armor set called ‘Destruction,’ which he obtained by killing Equipment Smith in the previous Episode.
K quickly removes Tora and Lilith, leaving only Tor and Julie for the final battle.
While K had the upper hand in battle, he decided to eradicate Koryo Academy and shoot a powerful beam towards it. The attack is stopped by Tsukimi, though, and the struggle continues with Tsukimi standing guard over the academy.
After a while, K lands a deadly blow on Tor, and Tor collapses. Seeing all this, Julie unlocks the same power she used in episode 8 to protect Sakuya.
But this time, Julie seems to have the upper hand; she quickly pummels K to the ground, totally out of control. Tor wakes up from the earlier blow and sees her DuoDuo is out of control.
Tor gives Julie a heartfelt pep talk, reminding her who she is and what she is fighting for. They blast K into oblivion with a combo of Tor’s strength and Julie’s regained control.
After all the dust settles, Koryo Academy’s life returns to (mostly) normal.
Julie tells Tor that she isn’t an exceed but an El-Awake. Her Blaze powers come naturally, unlike the other entities that use Lukifers to unlock the power of their souls.
When Julie’s father died, she begged and prayed for power to protect him. This desperation unlocked the secret power in her soul and took the form of a weapon, aka her Blaze.
An El-Awake is many times stronger than an Exceed, and this sudden surge of power makes it harder to control the power.
Tor vows to protect Julie forever and help her control this tremendous power. Julie promises to be with him forever, helping him however she can.
Tor and Julie’s bond is stronger than ever, with their “Avenger” pact solidified. They vow to keep protecting each other and everyone else.
