10. The Sympathizer

The Sympathizer is an upcoming HBO serie­s, starring Robert Downey Jr. in multiple antagonist roles.

Based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s novel of the same name, the show will be an espionage thriller and satire. It follows an unnamed communist spy towards the end of the Vietnam War and his exile in the United States.

Hoa Xuande plays the lead role, while Robert Downey Jr. portrays various characters representing different aspects of American society. The series is co-produced by Don McKellar and acclaimed South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook.

9. Hacks (Season 3)

Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble’s hit HBO series “The Sex Lives of College Girls” was renewed even before its second season concluded.

7. House Of The Dragon (Season 2)

House of the Dragon is set to return on June 16, 2024. The first season showed growing tensions between two factions of the Targaryen family, with the finale resulting in irreversible damage to one side.

In the second season, the conflict will escalate into the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, as two parties, led by Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, compete for the Iron Throne.

6. Industry (Season 3)

With Succession ending, the next best thing for HBO fans is the business drama series Industry, a series known for its extreme, nail-biting tension.

Industry explores the cutthroat world of investment banking through the eyes of young graduates competing for positions.

The show’s third season is set to premiere in 2024, with HBOs Game of Thrones alum Kit Harrington excitedly added to the ensemble cast.

5. My Brilliant Friend (Season 4)

The Batman is one of the most popular recent superhero movies. DC is capitalizing on the version of the character created by director Matt Reeves by expanding it with TV spin-offs.

HBO’s The Penguin will follow actor Colin Farrell’s portrayal of the classic Batman villain, continuing the story after the film’s events in Gotham City following the death of crime boss Carmine Falcone.

The Penguin TV show doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but the supervillain drama is expected to debut towards the end of the year. The official teaser trailer for The Penguin suggests it could be one of the best new HBO shows of the year.
