A Quick Look at Special Abilities of Clone Force 99!

When the cruel command of Order 66 was given out, there was just one team of Clone Troopers who didn’t follow through. This was Clone Force 99, who came to be known as The Bad Batch as they were “defective” and were able to defy the Empire’s nefarious schemes.

You must be wondering, to flip a bird at the Empire, surely this team must have some superpowers. So do The Bad Batch really have powers? What are they?

Clone Force 99 AKA The Bad Batch don’t have “superpowers” but each member does have one or two enhanced abilities, such as enhanced intellect, super strength, heightened senses, etc.

The reason why I emphasized on The Bad Batch having no superpowers is because George Lucas himself did not want to characterize them as “superheroes.” Instead, they are bunch of unique individuals with certain enhanced abilities, who decide to use their “powers” for the greater good.

Each member of The Bad Batch has a specific enhanced ability, so let’s look into it!

1. Hunter

The Bad Batch

Hunter’s enhanced abilities are heightened senses, target tracking, electromagnetic detection, and strategy.

As the leader, Hunter is an ace strategist and this skill have proven to pull The Bad Batch out of trouble several times. What takes this to the next level is the fact that he seems to have his senses enhanced to the point that he can even detect fluctuations in electromagnetic waves — This comes in handy to flush out droids.

2. Crosshair

The Bad Batch

Crosshair’s enhanced abilities are enhanced vision and spatial awareness and sharpshooting.

Crosshair used to be the trusted sniper of the group, all thanks to his enhanced abilities. However, Crosshair was not as “defective” as the other members of The Bad Batch and continued to be loyal to the Empire. This caused him to leave the group, despite the fact that he yearned to have his brothers in arm by his side.

3. Echo

The Bad Batch

Echo’s enhanced abilities are cybernetics and hacking skills.

So, Echo is slightly different from the rest of The Bad Batch because he actually doesn’t have any altered/enhanced abilities — he’s just a regular clone. But he has more than proved his bravery, especially during the time he was imprisoned by the Separatists.

Here, they tortured him and turned him into a cyborg, the evidence of which you can see through his robotic arm.

4. Wrecker

Wrecker’s enhanced abilities are superstrength and demolition skills.

With a name like Wrecker, you expect some heavy damage and this Bad Batch member does not disappoint! Wrecker is large, imposing and built like a tank — all of which help him utilize his enhanced strength during fights. As Wrecker can lift extremely heavy objects and break down doors, he’s not so keen on plans that rely on strategy rather than muscle.

5. Tech

Tech’s enhanced abilities are enhanced intellect, especially relating to science and technology.

Tech’s intellectual enhancements allow him to navigate through scientific and technological problems with ease — to the extent that he could rewire the enemy’s robot to betray its owner. Tech is also a whizz with linguistics, which if you’re traveling across space and meeting different species, can come in very handy!

6. Omega

Omega’s enhanced abilities include enhanced intellect, computing and strategy.

Omega is a one of two pure clones of Jango Fett, so in essence her DNA has not been altered, especially not in physical terms. But she does seem to have some enhanced mental abilities that are reflected in her intellect, mathematical computing as well as strategy.

Some believe she also may be force-sensitive. But it hasn’t been confirmed yet, so we’ll hold off on that one!
