Elden Ring Bug Buffs Weak Enemies to Deal Massive Damage

Elden Ring has been one of the most talked-about games recently, and with good reason. FromSoftware’s latest release has climbed the ranks to become one of the highest-rated games in history. While it has received widespread acclaim, there are still several bugs the studio has to work out, one of which is making weak enemies incredibly powerful.

Players will encounter a wide variety of creatures and foes when exploring the world of Elden Ring, most of which are trying to kill you. This would include mutilated dog-like creatures known in the game as Rotten Strays, who are quick on their feet for dodging and attacking.

Fighting a pack can become overwhelming quickly, but they are pretty easy when compared to some of the other enemies found in Elden Ring.

Another variant of this same dog creature is the bleed variant which can pose a more significant threat to the player. These bleed dogs can even kill players with a single attack due to a bug present in the game.

This was shown in a recent viral Reddit clip in which an Elden Ring player with 62 Vigor was one-hit killed by one of these dogs. While they are dangerous, they are not supposed to be this strong, so fans are rightly confused.

Zullie the Witch, a YouTube channel, uploaded a video explaining the situation in detail. The gist of the video is that the game forgets that players already took damage from encountering the dog’s hitbox, and so it keeps applying the damage from the single attack endlessly until the player dies

Elden Ring - What's wrong with the Bleed Dogs?

Since the problem has been found, Zullie the Witch feels that it should be a “fairly simple thing to patch,” though we will still have to wait for a fix to release. FromSoftware has yet to acknowledge this issue publicly, so it could be some time before the patch is out. Elden Ring has received a steady string of updates since the game’s launch, so the wait might not be that long for this problem to be solved.

Updates that tackle bugs and glitches are much appreciated by the community, but others may be more interested in more substantial updates. New quest phases have been added, and a new NPC in one of the previous updates as well, so it is very possible for FromSoftware to make meaningful content changes in future patches.
