Shriek’s Powers In Venom 2 Are No Joke, Reveals Latest Teaser

Fans have finally been treated to a better and closer look at Naomie Harris’ Shriek in the latest clip uploaded by Sony via Bloody Disgusting.

A vicious smile, spooky eye-makeup, and intense eyes – Harris has brought to life the villain of Spider-Man’s (and now Venom’s) Shriek.

The sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage marks the character’s first live-action debut on screens, and she’s everything that fans fear and love.

Bloody Disgusting released a clip titled “Locked Up,” an introduction to Shriek and teases fans with her abilities.

We see Shriek locked up in what looks like a soundproof cell with multiple layers of protection and the prison staff bringing her food. The team takes utmost precautions, wearing soundproof earphones and headphones before entering her cell.

Even the audio is cut off, showcasing the deafening silence the orderlies now hear. Ultimately, Shriek smiles a little as the staff puts the food tray down and imitates a chomping action.

That slight chomp-off action breaches the layers and can be heard through the protective gears, as the orderly scrambles back. Now that’s what we call superpower.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage: Clip #4 "Locked Up" HD

This clip offers a proper, even if short, look at what Shriek is dangerously capable of, unlike the previous teasers/trailers where she mostly had blink-and-miss moments.

Though the clip doesn’t do justice to the powers she actually holds, we hope the movie does. Fans did get a chance to see how dangerous her strengths are in the trailer before, but that was it.

Lover of Cletus Kasaday, aka Carnage, and an enemy of Spider-Man, Shriek first appeared in 1993’s Spider-Man Unlimited No. 1 and was created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Lim.

She gained powers to manipulate sound and use it as a weapon, along with a few psychic abilities.

Venom Let There Be Carnage

Just like the comics, it’s also expected that Shriek will join Carnage/Kasady on another murder spree in Venom’s upcoming sequel. But she might also be explored in her individuality too.

How much will fans see Shriek’s dangerous powers will only be revealed once the movie releases.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will hit the theaters on October 1, 2021.

About Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is an upcoming American superhero film directed by Andy Serkis. A sequel to 2018’s Venom, it is based on the Marvel Character of the same name. Tom Hardy will be reprising his role as journalist Eddie Brock/ Venom and newcomer Woody Harrelson will play psychotic serial killer Cletus Kasady/ Carnage, in the second installment. Further cast includes Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, and Naomie Harris.

Venom ended with the symbiote destroying Carlton Drake, the symbiote Riot, and the Life Foundation’s spaceship. Thus  the world was saved. In a mid-credits scene, Brock was invited to interview incarcerated serial killer Cletus Kasady, who promised “carnage” when he escaped. This was Woody Harrelson’s Carnage reference.

Now, the trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage teased the appearance of another symbiote Toxin through his host, Patrick Mulligan.
