Just as the VCT excitement reached its peak, Valorant announces the release of ‘Agent 26’. The new agent is a Sentinel who goes by the name of ‘Vyse’. She is depicted as a cunning and cautious trap setter in the official trailer.
Vyse has liquid metal manipulation abilities and can isolate fights. As she is set to deploy soon, it is best to look at her host of abilities (Some very unique, and not just to Sentinels) and with one being the most broken Ultimates Valorant has seen until now.
1. When does Vyse release in Valorant?
Vyse or Agent 26 will be released in Valorant on August 28, 2024. There is official confirmation from Riot Games that the new Sentinel will be available with the release of Episode 9 Act 2.
‘All paths end with Vyse–lethal tactician, metal manipulator, and the newest Sentinel Agent in VALORANT’ is the tag that the official Valorant channel gave to the agent’s trailer. With the VCT reaching the grand finale and the console version out, Riot seems to be capitalizing on the hype.
Although the new agent, Vyse, will drop on the 28th of August, we must keep in mind that for Free-to-play players, it will take longer to obtain the character. The criteria is to reach a certain amount of XP in the game or by using Kingdom Credits.
2. What are the abilities of Vyse?
Valorant releases new agents with abilities that are somewhat unique each time. If we take a look at the previous few agents- Clove, Iso, and Deadlock, they all have abilities that are very special and unique.
Clove can smoke after death, Iso can basically kidnap one player in his AOE with a 100% chance, and Deadlock has the ‘If-I-find-you-you-are-dead-i-nator’. But from what we can see from the Vyse showcase, Riot Games has outdone itself and given Sentinel controlling abilities (and flashes!).
- Arc Rose (E)
- Vyse’s freebie E ability is reusable and a set-up flash trap. You can place it on a surface, and it will hide itself when players are close – they get blinded for a substantial duration.
- Shear (Q)
- Vyse’s Q ability is for isolating fights and is unique for a Sentinel. Harbor’s Cove is somewhat similar, but ‘Shear’ is a trap set for duelists and entry-takers. It raises a wall blocking off team support and gives a 1v1. The wall is indestructible for a few seconds.
- Razorvine (C)
- Vyse’s C is a throwable mesh of metallic vines. Using it on a surface, it hides itself, and you can use it to deploy a large nest of sharp vines that both slow down and damage enemies.
- Ultimate Ability – Steel Garden
- Vyse’s Ultimate is a massive AOE ability that surrounds the entire area with liquid metal that spawns vines to entangle the primary weapons of all enemies within range.
The primary weapons are jammed for a few seconds – a golden opportunity for a retake or site entry. We can expect site destruction through multiple stacks of this ult along with Harbor and Fade’s ultimates.
3. What is Vyse’s gear?
Every agent in Valorant has to unlock tiers; previously, it took XP to unlock them, and now they take Kingdom Credits. Vyse also features interesting tiers in Valorant. The secondary-weapon skins are the skins that are widely used among F2P players.
You can get five of these rewards just by unlocking the agent. Let us look at the unique features available from the agent-exclusive tier rewards. Spoiler alert: We finally have a new Classic Skin.
- Tier 1: Spray – Jammed
- Tier 2: Player Card – VALORANT Vyse
- Tier 3: Title – Tempered
- Tier 4: Spray – Arts and Crafts
- Tier 5: Kingdom Credits – 2,000
- Tier 6: Gun Buddy – Metal Petals
