Vin Diesel Hints Riddick 4: Furya Might Be ‘Closer Than You Think’

As hinted by Vin Diesel, the fourth film in the Chronicles of Riddick, titled Furya, is ‘closer than you think.’

The actor posted a picture of himself in character and captioned the post, “Incredible meeting today, thanks team you know who you are… Let’s just say Furia maybe closer than you think. #Riddick”

In the film series, Diesel plays Richard B. Riddick, the antihero based on the character created by Ken Wheat and Jim Wheat. Diesel’s Riddick first made his debut in 2000’s Pitch Black.

The Riddick series, with three movies in so far, have become cult classics over the years. The fourth film has been in talks for almost 7 years now.

Earlier in June this year, Diesel talked to GamesRadar+ about Furya,

[Director] David Twohy, he wrote a great script. It’s just a matter of timing when we get that opportunity to shoot that. But I believe we’re shooting that in Australia. And it would be the fourth chapter in that series, which would be awesome.

Plot details for Riddick 4: Furya are still under wraps. Universal Pictures, who distributed the previous installments, is expected to distribute the fourth film as well.

With the Fast and the Furious franchise coming to an end with its next two films, Diesel has no intent to stop making movies that extend into long franchises. Along with Riddick, the actor might also be returning to portray Xander Cage in the xXx movie series and a new role in Avatar 2 (2022).

And then there’s Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy series, but saying, ‘I am Groot,’ in 5 different emotions and a few different languages wouldn’t be such a significant block in his schedule.

Riddick 4: Furya does not have a release date yet. Assuming that Diesel’s post hints at ongoing filming, fans of the Furyan warrior won’t have to wait too long.
