Hana and Shinchi’s quirky dynamic might have been platonic for now, but things are about to get more interesting as Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! anime makes its return soon.
With the second season announced back in September last year, the anime has decided to release a special visual to announce the start of production. This might seem like a standard one but it introduces us to a character we are yet to meet.
The official website for Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! has released a visual to commemorate the anime’s second season, which will be released in 2022.
In the visual, Hana and Shinichi are playing a video game together while she teases him with her usual smug expression. The cat which appears in the background throughout the first season can also be seen in the visual.
We also get our first look at Yanagi Uzaki, the younger sister of Hana, who is an honor student in her second year of junior high. The fact that they are playing video games in the visual is a cheeky nod to Yanagi’s wicked video gaming skills.
The second season will adapt the Festival arc from the manga. Along with Yanagi, another member of the Uzaki family will be introduced this season according to the producers.
Being one among the few anime that was released last year, the first season of the anime was quite polarising. While many people loved it for what it was, some of them did not like the concept at all. The adaptation even got into a little controversy about Hana’s character design.
With a few developments here and there, the upcoming season will be pretty much like the first one. If you enjoyed that, you’re gonna love this one too.
