Chucky Series Releases Chilling New Teaser Poster

A refreshing new Chucky series is in the works! Lovers of horror movies can bank on SYFY and USA Networks’ upcoming series to bring back the beloved and unique psychopath killer doll, Chucky, in action.

The Chucky series is a spinoff of Don Mancini’s Child’s Play. The creepy killer doll was created and introduced by Mancini in 1988, which soon became a classic in the horror genre.

Mancini’s Chucky franchise consists of eight movies, going from a classic horror concept to a satirical, almost comical horror series, especially in the recent releases.

Fans can set expectations now as, after the trailer drop of the series, IGN released a creepy-looking new teaser poster for Chucky. It hints at the basic plot of the series, as it showcases teenagers with a knife reflecting Chucky’s angry face. Even the one holding the knife is (obviously) Chucky’s doll-like arms.

The poster also goes up a notch with the tagline, “A classic coming of rage story,” implying that this Chucky is now entering the complex realm of the 2021 generation of teenagers’ lives.

The lead star of the show, alongside Chucky, is Zackary Arthur’s character, Jake, who will be the new owner of the doll.

A line from the official synopsis of the show reads, “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets.” With this, it seems that the series will focus on teenagers’ daily-life struggles, friendships, bullying, betrayals, and more.

The series might also touch upon the mysterious origins of Chucky. He is mainly described as a voodoo doll who is possessed with the soul of a serial killer.

To amp up the heat, the networks have also made an official Twitter account for Chucky, who gives sassy replies to fans on the platform. His bio ever reads, “you jerks can’t get enough of me,” and goes around calling people “jerks”!

Bratty, foul-mouthed, violent Chucky will be reimagined by his creator Mancini and premiere on SYFY and USA Network on October 12, 2021.
