Sakura, the school’s nurse appears in episode 5 of Urusei Yatsura, titled “The Glove of Love and Conflict! How I have Waited for You….”
We finally got an episode that was a little different from all the generic stuff that has been happening till now. Sakura shows up and helps the sports teacher exorcise the spirit inside a pair of gloves using Ataru and Lum.
Ataru got tricked by his classmates. They sent him a love letter to make a fool out of him, but as long as Lum is by his side, nobody can get the better of him. We got a little development between Ataru and Lum as they finally held hands, and the pervert started to feel attraction towards her.

Episode 6 Speculations
Lum’s fellow aliens will show up in episode 6 of Urusei Yatsura, titled “Good Day for a Departure! Oyuki Ataru Retires.”
A new girl is coming in the next episode. It’s time for Lum’s clan’s annual event. We see a bunch of aliens walking around a deserted place, but the main focus is on a girl who will later fall for Ataru.
Well, I highly doubt that the anime will deviate from its routine. It introduces new girls every episode, not giving any time to Lum and Ataru or anyone else’s development.

Episode 5 Recap
Ataru rushes to the infirmary when he learns that a new nurse has joined that day. When he reaches there, he finds out that the shrine maiden Sakura is related to Cherry.
A bunch of sports teacher show up in her room and wants her to do something with a pair of boxing gloves. Sakuranbou interferes and causes one of the gloves to get thrown out. It falls in the hands of Lum, who takes it to Ataru.
Ataru wears the glove, and suddenly he starts grabbing all the girls and hugging them. The school teachers and Sakura show up with the other pair and tell everyone that the gloves are cursed.
A teacher puts the other glove in Ataru’s hand, and he starts hitting everyone close to him. Both gloves do opposite things. Sakura puts Lum and Ataru in a ring and tells them to do their usual stuff to exorcise the ghost inside the gloves.
Ataru and Lum go through the process of beating and hugging, which finally satisfies the spirit inside the gloves. While heading for school, Lum wants to hold Ataru’s hands, but he clearly declines.
A bunch of boys is jealous of Ataru and Mendo, and they decide to take revenge. They write a love letter for Ataru and hand it to him. In the same letter, they have written something bad about Mendo.
Ataru and Mendo end up arguing with each other. Mendo challenges him that if the woman named “Otoko Kumino” turns out to be fake, he will take over as class president.
The boys heir a girl to play the role of the girl and class Ataru to a cafe at 4 p.m. However, the girl got sick thanks to the treatment they gave him. Lum overhears their conversation.
Lum wants Ataru to learn his lesson, so she doesn’t tell him anything. Everyone waits for the girl at the cafe, but even after one hour, no one shows up. Lum has a change of heart and shows up as Otomo, shocking everyone present.
She takes him away. Ataru starts getting a little attracted to Lum, and they walk together, holding hands.
About Urusei Yatsura
Urusei Yatsura is a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi. It has a total of 374 chapters and was published from 1978 to 1987. Its anime adaptation received 195 episodes from 1981 to 1986. A new anime adaptation with selected stories began airing in October 2022.
In the series, a humanoid alien race invades the Earth but agrees that if the protagonist wins in a game of tag, they will leave it unharmed. Ataru wins against the alien girl, Lum.
Lum misunderstands and thinks Ataru is proposing marriage, and starts living with him and joins his high school. Ataru is a trouble magnet and gets stuck in weird situations pretty often.
