Urusei Yatsura Ep 12 Release Date, Speculations, Watch Online

Mendo’s sister invites Ataru to Mendo’s estate in episode 11 of Urusei Yatsura, titled “Mendo Siblings!! A Strange New Year at the Mendo Estate.”

It was a crazy episode. Ryouko, Mendo’s sister, is an entertaining character who loves to play pranks on her brother. She came to the school just to give Mendo a lunchbox that was days old.

The real fun began in the second half of the episode, where Ataru and Lum went to the Mendo estate to celebrate the new year. It was rather unexpected that the Mendo family would go to such an extent just to have some harmless fun.

Episode 12 Speculations

Ataru might go on a date in episode 12 of Urusei Yatsura, titled “Ten is Here, A Date for Just the Two of Us.”

I think the anime is referring to Benten in the title because she is the only character with a name similar to that. We only got a glimpse of Benten and Oyuki, and I think we will learn more about them in the upcoming episode.

Lum might take Ataru out for a date. It is not certain who is going on a date in the next episode. The anime has been quite fun for the last few episodes, and I really hope that it is consistent with it.

Episode 11 Recap

Ataru meets a lady with a skeleton body while heading for school. Mendo is in a dilemma as he might know the lady. During the lunch break, a young and beautiful woman arrives at school.

She tells everyone that she is engaged to Mendo. Every girl in the class gets angry at him. She then reveals that she is his sister and has come by to give him his lunch.

However, he already has a lunch box, and his sister has brought a lunch that is four days old. Mendo refuses to eat it, so she gets sad. Ataru decides to eat it to impress Mendo’s sister.

She is impressed by Ataru’s kindness, but Mendo can’t tolerate seeing her getting impressed by him. They all create a ruckus in the class. She invites Ataru to seek into their estate in other to meet her.

Mendo is angry over the decision, but his sister has done this only to get entertainment. Ataru shows up at Mendo’s estate for the new year’s party even though Mendo hasn’t invited him.

Lum, Shinobu, and Sakura show up in kimonos. Benten and Lady Oyuki also show up for the party. They all explore the estate and are left in awe of its massive size of it.

Soon, they all get indulged in the mischievousness of the Mendo family. Each guest gets involved in some kind of game or prank. Benten gets trapped and is labelled a failure for not following the rules.

Lum is thrown in the air for not participating in an eating competition. Rei and some other characters are also present there. At last, Ryouko sends Mendo and Ataru to the sky in a rocket. The rocket explodes, wishing everyone a happy new year.

About Urusei Yatsura

Urusei Yatsura is a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi. It has a total of 374 chapters and was published from 1978 to 1987. Its anime adaptation received 195 episodes from 1981 to 1986. A new anime adaptation with selected stories began airing in October 2022.

In the series, a humanoid alien race invades the Earth but agrees that if the protagonist wins in a game of tag, they will leave it unharmed. Ataru wins against the alien girl, Lum.

Lum misunderstands and thinks Ataru is proposing marriage, and starts living with him and joins his high school. Ataru is a trouble magnet and gets stuck in weird situations pretty often.
