Universal Unexpectedly Delays Fast & Furious 10 by Six Weeks

Universal has announced that Fast & Furious 10 will be pushed back by a month. This changes its earlier release date of April 7, 2023 to May 19, 2023.

An untitled DreamWorks Animation film will take F10’s spot instead.

Although the reason for its delay has not been revealed, fans shouldn’t be too concerned since it is only a minor change. One simple explanation can be wanting to release F10 in time for the summer bracket.

(We all know that summer movie releases can result in some big bucks at the box office).

Vin Diesel

Another possible reason could also be scheduling and filming issues. Only last week, Vin Diesel sent out a warm public request to Dwayne Johnson on Instagram about joining the crew for F10 after their supposed falling out.

He stated that the franchise’s swansong would be incomplete without Johnson:

While Johnson hasn’t publicly responded to the post yet, it is possible for the two to bury the hatchet and appear on screen together.

This would mean ensuring that F10’s main cast is all available to film together, given that they’re all A-listers prone to have their schedules filled with other big projects as well.

Besides, Diesel also teased having Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow Walker on board for F10. We are sure it is going to be one big emotional shindig!

While details for F10 are understandably under wraps, it is expected that Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, John Cena, and Charlize Theron will be returning.

At the moment, there is no confirmation on whether F10 will be divided into a two-part movie or a separate F11 will be the final one. However, rumors point to the former being true.

The Fast & Furious franchise has a cult following which resulted in F9 being one of the highest-grossing movies during the pandemic.

If the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Meadow Walker, and others do join when F10 takes its final bow, it is sure to break box office records once again!
