The UniteUp! television anime released a new promotional video for the series on December 28. The video previews the show’s opening theme song and features the character Akira Kiyose, a high school student who loves to sing.
The anime is set to premiere on January 7, 2023. The show will air on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, BS11, HTB Hokkaido TV, and MBS.
The CloverWorks-produced anime is directed by Shin’chiro Ushijima, with Rino Yamakazi overseeing the scripts. Majiro is the character designer and chief animation director for the show, alongside Asami Komatsu and Yurie Hama.
Hiromi Ishigami is slated to be the action director, Masakazu Miyake is handling art direction, Kazuko Nakashima is the color designer, Yukiko Nagase is the photography director, and Yuki Hayashi is the music composer.
The anime’s plot revolves around Akira Kiyose, who sings on a video streaming site under the alias KIKINOYU. One day, the talent agency sMiLea Production, founded by a retired legendary idol pair AneLa, scouts Akira.
The agency was founded to train new budding idols. Once scouted, Akira forms an idol group with Banri Naoe and Chihiro Isuzugawa, who the agency also finds.
Their new group Protostar, will have their debut along with other idol groups that sMiLea Production has bought together, such as Legit and Jaxx Jaxx.
