Fuuko and Andy go to Russia in episode 3 of Undead Unluck, titled “How to Use My Unluck.”

In a bid to stay safe from any Negator attacks until they find a member of the Union, Andy forces Fuuko onto a boat. The two go straight to Russia while evading multiple attacks from fighter jets. Eventually, their ship is destroyed, forcing them to hijack one of the planes.

After they land in Russia, Fuuko and Andy part ways temporarily so that he can find his old war buddies. Fuuko wanders the beach and runs into an interesting girl during this time.

Andy and Fuuko have run into another member of the Union much earlier than expected. Gena was the same person Andy talked about since they had a troubled history. The next episode will likely be an action-filled fight between the two.

Considering Gena’s powers and confident exterior, she may be much stronger than Andy. However, Andy has gained fifty more years of experience since their last meeting. He can always rely on Fuuko’s Unluck to escape if things turn sour.

3. Recap of Episode 3

Andy drags Fuuko into his boat, and they immediately start getting attacked by fighter jets. Andy cuts his fist off and blasts it at the plane, taking it down in one punch. After everything settles, he explains his memories about the Emblem that their last attackers had.

Their conversation is interrupted by a massive blast from the sky that destroys the boat. Andy wakes up underwater and notices Fuuko stuck under a pile of wreckage. He lifts it with his abilities and then drags her to the surface.

Andy tells Fuuko to raise her hands and pretend to surrender. He buys time for Fuuko’s Unluck ability to kick in. As he finishes his sentence, a massive explosion happens underwater, and they get blown into the air.

They land inside the fighter jet’s cockpit using Andy’s blood propulsion and take over. Once they approach land, the plane initiates a self-destruct sequence. Fuuko notices the pretty beach near their landing spot, and Andy says he’ll meet up with his friends and then find Fuuko.

She wanders around the beach and runs into a Russian girl painting the sea. The girl starts freaking out about seeing an actual Japanese person and gives her a canvas to paint on. Fuuko joins her until sunset, where they paint the landscape and talk about life.

Once it’s nighttime, Fuuko shows the girl her art, and she’s impressed. Gena asks Fuuko whether she likes a life full of change or something stable. This prompts her to talk about everything that happened in the last four days.

Gena walks onto the sea, and the land under her floats in the air. Andy runs from behind and immediately attacks her but is knocked back to the floor. He recognizes her as another member of the organization.

Undead Unluck is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2020. As of May 2023, it is collected into 16 volumes.

The story follows Fuuko Izumo who has the ability to bring bad luck to anyone she touches. Tormented by her ability, she decides to commit suicide but fate intervenes when she meets Andy, an undead person who wishes for the ‘best death.’ The pair joins the mysterious organization, Union, which consists of people like Fuuko and Andy, and go on missions given by a book called ‘Apocalypse.’
