Undead Unluck Ep 22 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Episode 21 of Undead Unluck is titled “Memento Mori.” In this episode, Anno turns Andy into a giant book of memories.

Since the book contains memories from Victor’s time, its size increases till the book reaches outer space. Since Anno and Fuuko could never feasibly read such a huge book, Anno sends Fuuko to use her unique ability. Fuuko finds himself as a character in Andy’s memory, directly interacting with everyone in it.

The first memory contains Andy in a sandy town, leading a crew of cowboys. However, misfortune strikes them all, and Andy is the only member left alive.

Episode 22 of ‘Undead Unluck’ will be released on Friday, March 8, 2024. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Friday. You can watch ‘Undead Unluck’ anime on Hulu.

2. Episode 22 Speculation

As Fuuko travels through Andy’s memories, she slowly uncovers his true character and the growth he went through. The Andy in the present that Fuuko knows is a result of hundreds of years of living through traumatic experiences. As Fuuko tries to navigate Andy’s memories, the timelines keep switching.

The next episode will cover Fuuko in 1865, observing the behavior of Andy at that time. As the timelines keep varying, Andy may not have the memories of the previous. Since the cowboy Andy mentioned in 1865 as his last memory, could’ve been when he implanted the metal shard.

If the shard had been inserted in 1865, Fuuko would have witnessed Victor’s final moments. Victor voluntarily restricted his memories, and Fuuko’s mission was to discover why.

Andy’s entire story has been turned into a book, and it’s way too large to read since Victor’s portion is also in there. Anno turns Fuuko into a spiritual ball and throws it into Andy so she can learn his story. Fuuko spawns in a sandy desert area with an old version of Andy.

Fuuko talks about Andy’s tattoos and says that she knows his future. Fuuko meets with Andy’s team and has food with them for the night. When Fuuko mentions his Undead ability, the crew bursts out laughing. In this timeline, Andy doesn’t know about his Undead ability yet.

To gain Andy’s trust, Fuuko does a Russian roulette-type test. However, the crew is ambushed all of a sudden, and shots are fired, killing everyone. Josh protected Fuuko with her body, saving her life. Andy is the only one who survived and now knows of his Undead ability.

Andy and Fuuko bury the bodies in the morning and leave the town for good. In this timeline, Andy never cracked a smile nor talked about his past. One night, Fuuko and Andy talk about what it means for a person to die. Fuuko thinks a person only truly dies when everyone forgets about them.

After Andy tells her his oldest memory, Fuuko fades away into the past once more to 1865. Fuuko finds herself in the middle of school’s courtyard and notices something familiar. However, Andy is nowhere to be found.

Undead Unluck is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2020. As of May 2023, it is collected into 16 volumes.

The story follows Fuuko Izumo who has the ability to bring bad luck to anyone she touches. Tormented by her ability, she decides to commit suicide but fate intervenes when she meets Andy, an undead person who wishes for the ‘best death.’ The pair joins the mysterious organization, Union, which consists of people like Fuuko and Andy, and go on missions given by a book called ‘Apocalypse.’
