Tsurune: The Linking Shot Episode 2 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Minato’s love for kyudo grows as it reaches incredible heights in episode 1 of Tsurune: The Linking Shot titled “Summer Calls.”

The episode begins with the school tournament as we see the kyudo club partake in other sports and show their athletic talent in futsal, basketball, and volleyball. Minato can’t stop thinking about picking up a bow, however.

They end with a special training session from Masaki, as they figure out how to view the target to aim, unique to each person, and discover what works for them. Regionals are approaching, and this time Shu is determined to go all the way through to nationals.

Episode 2 Speculation

The sports tournament has come to an end and now the club has regionals to look forward to next episode will likely begin their regular training for it and all the upcoming struggles in preparation to make it through the tournament.

Shu’s determination to win is even stronger this time and will likely carry Kirisaki through regionals and possibly even beyond to nationals eventually; only time will tell. Especially with Masaki’s training, the club is becoming even stronger daily.

We begin the season with a beautiful shot of the main cast, drawing the string of their bow and firing an arrow with pin-point precision and all their heart put into it. Minato fires the arrow and recalls his world being turned anew.

We find Minato is breaking the rules as club activities are not allowed at the moment due to the tournament, and the rest of the group, Nanao, Kaito, and Ryouhei, are scolding him for practicing on his own.

The rest of the group also wants to join in, as the club leader berates them for breaking the rules and not resting themselves. Kaito says that he can do both the tournament and the club activities simultaneously and they even keep a bet on it.

As he scores an early goal, he assumes that victory is in the bag, but Seiya has begun strategizing against him. Some of the others are in volleyball and even basketball. The futsal game ends with Seiya’s win as his brains eventually overcome Kaito’s skill.

Yamanouchi manages to win the MVP as he takes the victory in Kendo. The others ask why he doesn’t join the Kendo club, but he says he has devoted himself entirely to kyudo, especially since Kendo hurts.

Minato can’t stop thinking about picking up the bow, and his obsession with kyudo grows. We see some beautiful visuals of Masaki shooting some shots as club members appear. Fuu, a white owl, shows up and sits on Minato.

They talk about the different types in which people aim the bow, depending on how much of the target they can see. As they all draw their strings, everyone has their unique way of looking at it and a beautiful noise that accompanies the arrow’s release.

Masaki helps them out, especially with Ryohei, who is beginning to feel off. They talk about why they love kyudo and Minato begins getting all philosophical. They learn about calling out their shots, helping them get into the zone.

The group head home in anticipation of the upcoming regionals. Minato calls Shu and revives old memories of training with Saionji-sensei.

Tsurune is a light novel by Kotoko Ayano which was adapted into an anime series by Kyoto Animation in 2018. As of 2022, three volumes have been published under Kyoto Animation’s KA Esuma Bunko imprint.
