Netflix is treating its fans with some Halloween treats – the streaming service dropped some new footage of the new season of The Witcher on October 31st. For the uninitiated, the video will seem to be nothing more than a recap of Geralt bashing monsters from season one to the tune of Monster Mash. But eagle-eyed fans will notice two new shots that do not belong to the first season.
The team of Netflix had not-so-subtly captioned the video with – “This is not a trick, there are two treats to be found here” on the show’s Instagram page. On Twitter, the caption read, “Monsters big and monsters small, sharpen your sword and slay them all…if you can spot them.” If you haven’t managed to catch a glimpse of the two new monsters, we’re here to help.
At the 0:15 second mark, the first monster makes an appearance. It looks like a wad of grass covered with blood and a single eyeball stuck to it. Rather than making an appearance, the second monster is teased at the 0:30 second mark. Wearing torn clothes and jewelry, three skeletons are bound together in what looks like a dark cave. Is it the remains of some people who encountered the beast? If so, what will happen to Geralt when he encounters it?
Netflix had also released a few still photos of Yennefer, Geralt and Princess Ciri from season two. In the second season, Yennefer recuperates from the Battle of Sodden Hill. Meanwhile, Geralt finds his Child of Surprise, Ciri, and they work on harnessing her powers.
The second season of The Witcher is scheduled to release in 2021.
