Episode 7 Recap
While Jun runs alone, he thinks back to ten years ago, when he first arrived in this town and met Tomo. Jun punched Tomo for accidentally destroying his game. Before returning with her parents to repent and make amends, Tomo committed to making it up to him.
The two then play together every day and get closer. Misuzu butts heads when Tomo introduces Jun to her. Misuzu makes fun of him for Tomo’s seeming superior strength and endurance.
Jun comes to hang out with a bandaid on his face after running into some bullies who steal his video game. Tomo hands him his video game while acting as if she found it on the street. Jun chastises Tomo for going up to the bullies as soon as she realizes she did.
Although he claims he never asked for her assistance, he is genuinely furious since he knows he will never be able to repay the favor.
Tomo is granted access to Jun’s video game, and he instructs her to retain it until he is more powerful than she is. In the present, Tomo wonders when Jun will eventually come back to get the game he lent her ten years ago. For their summer vacation, Tomo and her friends opt to spend time at the beach.
Tomo and Carol end up relaxing in the pool as Jun and Misuzu sit under the umbrella because he is flustered by seeing Carol and Tomo in swimsuits. A man on the beach starts making advances toward Tomo. She is initially intrigued but quickly turns terrified.
The man flees when Jun tells him off, and Tomo and Jun have ice cream. She tries to eat with him as close as she can, but she doesn’t believe Jun notices, but he hides how unsettled he is. He thinks about how Tomo made him feel so different today.
In the water, Jun realizes something has been different lately between him and Tomo. When Misuzu asks Jun if something’s wrong, he only responds that he has been distracted. She realizes that it’s because he’s finally starting to see Tomo as a girl.
