The third episode of Tomo-chan is a Girl! showed Tomo and Jun going on a “date,” which didn’t go as planned but definitely made Jun realize something about her feelings. While they did go to their usual hang-outs, Tomo’s addition of karaoke to their list revealed a side of her to him he hadn’t seen before.

Episode 3 ended with Jun looking at the video he took of Tomo when they went for karaoke, which then made him realize she was a bit different. In the next episode, he may want to learn more about that, getting him a step closer to understanding his feelings.
The next episode could also focus more on Tomo and her friendship with Carol and Misuzu during the school break.

Episode 4 Recap
Tomo confronts Misuzu about her prior relationship with Jun in an angry tone. However, she reveals that their romance only lasted three days since Jun’s exercise-focused outings left her feeling mentally and physically spent. Later, when Jun tells her he no longer likes Misuzu and is single, Tomo is delighted.
The following day, when Jun encounters Kosuke in the karate club, he is jealous and mistreats him, which Tomo corrects him for. Later that day, as Jun and Kosuke ride the bus, the latter learns that, despite their violent behavior with one another, Jun has a profound admiration for Tomo and starts to feel less frightened of him.
The following day, though, when he threatens to divulge the amusing things he said to Tomo, Jun threatens Kosuke again. In a coffee shop, Misuzu advises Tomo to take Jun out on a date but to avoid their usual hangouts. When Jun enthusiastically accepts Tomo’s date proposal, Misuzu and Carol offer Tomo assistance in making clothing purchases.
She arrives at the date the following day wearing her new outfit, but Jun does not comment. After witnessing his happiness, Tomo doesn’t question their attendance at typical hangout spots, which include a bowling alley and a batting cage.
She eventually works up the guts to take him to a karaoke machine, but she ends up performing kid-friendly tunes while being recorded by Jun, who laughs and records her. Jun notices Tomo looking different that day as an ashamed Tomo tries to prevent Misuzu and Carol from viewing her film the following day. Tomo rejoins the girls at the karaoke.

Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is a four-panel manga by Fumita Yanagida. It was published from April 2015 to July 2019. The manga will also receive an anime adaptation in 2023.
The plot revolves around a tomboy girl, Tomo Aizawa. She has a crush on her childhood friend, Jun, but he only ever thinks of her as a guy. She tries to show her love but it ends up in Jun completely misinterpreting her hints.
The hilarious series shows how Tomo tries to capture Jun’s attention while also dealing with her friends, Misuzu and Carol.
