Episode 9 Recap
A flashback shows Kosuke meeting and falling in love with Carol for the first time. In the present, Kosuke enrolls in Goro’s dojo and quickly becomes overwhelmed. When asked why he entered, he reveals wanting to become stronger for Carol’s sake.
The next day, Carol believes Kosuke is attracted to Tomo and enters Junichiro’s house to make him jealous. This works, and Kosuke finally confesses his feelings for Carol to Misuzu, explaining that he has been unable to tell her because he has never seen her vulnerable.
To assist him, Misuzu makes some painful comments to Carol about Kosuke’s interest in her, causing her to flee the school, crying. Misuzu realizes her error and summons Kosuke to her house. He tells Carol about Misuzu’s lie and finally confesses his love to her.
Delighted, she accepts Kosuke’s confession, and her mother confides in him after he promises she will not change her personality because she is in love because now she has friends around her. Carol lashes out at Misuzu the next day by scaring her.
