A shimmer of hope shines on Takemichi in episode 7 of Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown, titled “Sibling Rivalry.”

The fight seemingly ends as we get reinforcements on the side of Takemichi as Mitsuya comes in and takes on Taiju in an intense one-on-one battle of fists. Flurries of punches are exchanged back and forth as the Toman member shows his worth.

Hakkai cannot handle the situation with a calm mind, with his comrades and his sister gasping for life on the ground he can’t see any way out other than murdering his brother. Takemichi won’t let him, multiple lives are at stake this Christmas night.

We will likely see Mikey and Draken reach the church next episode and save them from Taiju and Black Dragon’s wrath. The only one who can even match Taiju right now is Mikey, and Takemichi is nearing his limit as he gets beaten down by the captain. 

Hakkai will likely try and kill Taiju again as he sees Takemichi get wholly beaten down by his brother, but he will probably be stopped again as the timeline needs to remain intact.

3. Recap of Episode 7:

Taiju readies himself as he prepares to kill Yuzuha and knocks her to the floor in a single punch. As she gasps for air, he closes the distance. Takemichi immediately jumps in front of him and stops him from proceeding. 

Toman pieces everything together as he finally realizes what he needs to do to fix the timeline. In the original one, Hakkai takes the blame for Taiju’s murder to cover for his little sister. At the perfect time, Mitsuya enters the church.

He entrusts Yuzuha to Takemichi, faces Taiju head-on, and taunts him straight from the get-go. Draken and Mikey are also on the way after hearing the word about the situation, while Mitsuya struggles to face off against Taiju’s colossal body.

Even Chifuyu manages to escape the bounds with Mitsuya’s help and explains his plan and the current situation. At the same time, Taiju beats Mitsuya senselessly, but he still does not fall to the ground and manages to take punch after punch.

Hakkai screams to stop, but Mitsuya is still fighting in a calculated way; he knows his limits and how far he can go. However, Taiju has another card in his hand as Inui does a surprise strike from behind and knocks him unconscious.

He orders them to kill the rest, and Takemichi and Chifuyu charge at them, blinded by range but stopped by Mitsuya, who remains conscious. Takemichi loses all hope when he thinks that Mikey isn’t on the way and they can’t win without him.

He gives Hakkai a pep talk; if not for Black Dragon, he must at least fight for the sake of protecting his younger sister. They each choose their opponents, and Mitsuya gives Hakkai the confidence he needs to defy his brother.

But it wasn’t enough, as Mitsuya charged in to fight, but Hakkai still couldn’t move a single step from where he stood. He sees everyone else getting beat up and lying on the floor; he picks the knife up and goes to kill Taiju.

Takemichi stops him for a final time and grabs the knife making him drop it as he goes to fight Taiju by himself; with Hina on his mind, he does not back down and takes a flurry of the beast’s punches.

Tokyo Revengers is a manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 1, 2017, and ended its run in November 2022. It is compiled into 31 tankobon volumes.

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.
