Tokyo Babylon 2021 Canceled with Hopes of Restarting Production in Future

Tokyo Babylon 2021 is going through the most challenging times with the production issue and was already got delayed due to several copyright issues.

A few months back, the staff admitted their referenced character designs and assured us that they would make the necessary changes soon.

Well, I don’t think any further alteration is required since the franchise has put an end to this long-going conspiracy with a final verdict.

On Monday, the official website for Tokyo Babylon 2021 announced that the anime’s production had been canceled.

According to a new update, the production committee told staffers it had lost all faith in the project, thereby resulting in the series’ cancelation.

The anime was initially scheduled to release in April 2021, and the announcement more or less confirmed that we won’t be getting the anime any time soon.

However, CLAMP and the committee gave us a faint ray of hope that they may be aiming for a fresh start of the production. Those who have read the manga know precisely why we are craving this occult fantasy series’ anime adaptation.

In case the production company restarts the project in the future, the character designs, and the costumes won’t be the same as what you saw in the previously released visuals.

Makoto Furuta (Character designer) and his team would be extra cautious this time, and I am confident that this delay will ultimately benefit the franchise, and we as fans should support them in this rough time.

Maybe that’s the only way we can help to bring the action-packed supernatural series to the anime silver screen. Who knows, the next Jujutsu Kaisen maybe footsteps away from our door.
