TOHO Cinema Ikebukuro: Opening Lineup Anime Films Announced

The State of Emergency has been lifted in Japan from 25th May, and life has slowly started returning to normal. Anime and manga schedules are getting on track and with more vigour to make up for the lost time.

Film releases have already been delayed, and it will be sometime before new films come out.

TOHO Cinemas have announced the commencement of the “I want to watch it again! That anime work” screening. Nineteen anime movies produced by Kyoto Animation will be screened at the TOHO Cinemas, Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

The screening of these films will continue from 3rd to 9th July, which will mark the opening week of the TOHO Cinema.

The schedule of the screenings is as follows:

  • 3rd July: “The last battle between the Tenjo and Acts” and “The disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.”
  • 4th July: K-ON movie and Sound Emponium franchise films
  • 5th July: “High☆Speed! -Free! Starting Days” and Free! Iwatobi Swim Club anime franchise films.
  • 6th July: “Kotori Yu Rokka-Kai-Theatrical version I want to fall in love with Chuunibyo! “”The movie I want to fall in love with Chunibyou! -Take On Me-“
  • 7th July: Both the “Beyond and Boundary” anime films
  • 8th July: “A Silent Voice” and “Tamako Love Story.”
  • 9th July: Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll

The TOHO Cinemas will also celebrate the “50th year! Lupine the 3rd special” from 3rd to 9th July.

During this time “Lupine the Third: Lupine VS Replica Human (Clone)” and “Lupine the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro” will be screened.

At the Special Theatre No. 2, where the “roar” of sound can be experienced, popular movies will be screened. Some Studio Ghibli films like Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa of the Wind Valle,y and others like Rambo Last Blood, Sonic: The Movie will be screened.

These films will mark the opening of TOHO’s “Superb Sound Theatre”
