Toei Treats Fans with One Piece Strong World Screening this November

One Piece has been on fire throughout this year. After the series hitting the 1000 chapter mark at the beginning of the year, the anime is also closing in on that number. The 1000th episode of the anime is scheduled to air on November 14, 2021.

Before that happens, Toei has a treat for One Piece fans in the US.

Toei Animation and Fathom Events have announced that they will screen One Piece Strong World film in the US to commemorate the upcoming 1000th episode of the anime.

The film will be screened with the English dub on November 7, 2021, and English subtitles on November 9, 2021, in selected theaters. The screening will also include the US premiere of the 2011 film One Piece 3D: Mugiwara Chase. Tickets are available on the Fathom Events website.

Strong World is the only One Piece film that was written by Oda himself to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the series. Although, that might not be the only reason for the choice.

This movie is the only film that is largely considered to be part of the canonical story. It introduces the character of Golden Lion Shiki, who is mentioned in chapter 530. This might build up to a future introduction in the main story.

Toei had previously released a visual for the 1000th episode, which hints towards its content.

About One Piece

One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997.

The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age!

Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. His diverse crew is joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
