Your favorite witch is returning with a season seven on Hallmark’s Good Witch!
One of the longest-running characters played by the same actor, Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Catherine Bell), will return for the seventh season of the hit supernatural TV show. However, when it will return remains a question unanswered.
“On the heels of its recently concluded successful sixth season, “Good Witch” has been greenlit for Season 7,” read the official announcement by the Hallmark Channel.
One of the Longest Running Roles
According to Hallmark, Cassie’s character, played by the series star Catherine Bell, is a 13-year portrayal and one of the longest-running performances on television. Good Witch has been a hit for Hallmark Channel ever since it debuted in 2015.
Others in the list include Sarah Power (“Killjoys”), James Denton (“Devious Maids,” “Desperate Housewives”), Catherine Disher (“Abby Hatcher”), Katherine Barrell (“Wynonna Earp”), Scott Cavalheiro(“The Indian Detective”), Kylee Evans (“The Strain”) and Marc Bendavid (“Murdoch Mysteries”).
COVID Still Strong
Since the ongoing pandemic has hampered production, the when and where of the seventh season are not yet announced.
However, the renewal comes after a successful run of the sixth season which could guarantee an immediate start of production when things change for the better.
Season six, which finished airing on July 5th, averaged a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.87 million viewers in Live+same day viewing.
Compared to season five, that’s a 19% dip in the demo and a 13% drop in viewership which is still a decent margin.
