Episode 8 of ‘The Unwanted Undead Adventurer’ is titled “A New Weapon and Power.” In this episode, Rentt gets a new sword from the blacksmith.

The blacksmith entrusts Rentt with a sword capable of magic power, divinity, and mana. Although Rentt is a unique case of being able to wield all three, the combination is dangerous. The sword handles magic-spirit fusion but crumbles at the attempt of adding divinity.

Meanwhile, Rentt aims to gather more funds to get better equipment. For foes like the witch in the Labyrinth, Rentt may need to use a fusion of all elements.

1. Episode 9 Release Date

Episode 9 of ‘The Unwanted Undead Adventurer’ will be released on Friday, March 1, 2024. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Friday. You can watch ‘The Unwanted Undead Adventurer’ anime on Crunchyroll.

2. Episode 9 Speculation

Although Rentt has completed a major quest from Ryuntus, he may still not have enough funds to buy a new sword. However, Rentt’s current primary objective is to solve the kidnapping case. Until the kidnapping case has been concluded, the guildmaster will be suspicious of Rentt due to his surprise arrival at the guild.

Rentt will likely gather clues about the kidnapping from the merchants of Totts village. Since the merchants had been kidnapping girls from the town, they could have connections to the criminals in the city. Rentt will seek Lorraine’s help to investigate this matter further and clear his name from the guild.

Rentt gets a new sword that can use magic, divinity, and mana, just like he asked. The sword easily lets Rentt express all of his strength, and he tries to use both magic and spirit energy simultaneously. However, Rentt’s body barely manages to handle the fusion of such power. When Rentt also tries to add divinity, the sword crumbles into pieces.

Rentt realizes he will need much more money for equipment that can handle mithril-level magic. Rentt receives a quest to defeat the Lord of the Lake from Ryuntus. Rentt feels suspicious about the mission and visits the village in danger.

The following morning, Rentt tries to gather information about the festival from some traveling merchants. Amiris prepares to be offered as the sacrifice as her family gets increasingly worried. Rentt asks to talk with Amiris the night of the sacrifice and assures her that he will handle the situation.

Rentt leaves for the lake with Ryuntus while wearing masks. Amiris walks down the plank to the boat with both Rentt and Ryuntus. A fog covers the lake, and Rentt witnesses a colossal monster coming out of the water. Rentt jumps at the beast and quickly passes through. 

Rentt’s suspicions are confirmed as the visiting merchants had merely cast an illusion on the lake. Rentt defeats and captures all the merchants, knowing monsters like the Kraken would never act like this. Amiris and Ryuntus ask Rentt to stay for the rest of the festival, but he has people waiting at home.

Lorraine discusses the Lord of the Lake with Rentt, glad that her magic item was useful. Rentt deduces that the kidnappings in the village must be unrelated to this quest.
