Episode 4 of The Unwanted Undead Adventurer is titled “Existential Evolution.” In this episode, Rentt fights against the Giant Skeleton with Divinity.

After killing the Giant Skeleton, Rentt gains a huge essence stone and a lot of spirit energy. Rentt starts feeling weird desires and the temptation to eat human flesh after killing the boss. Luckily, Rentt resists the temptation to kill the adventurer and goes to Lorraine.

Rentt immediately jumps into Lorraine’s arms and hugs her. Suddenly, Rentt bites into her nape and takes out her flesh.

Rentt has discovered a new part of Existential Evolution with his new body as a ghast. Lorraine will likely do a lot of experiments in the next episode to figure out details about Rentt’s body. With Rentt’s healing magic and divinity, his body is likely strong now.

However, Rentt cannot level up like usual at the guild until he looks more human. Lorraine says that if Rentt evolves again, he could become a vampire. There may be additional conditions to become a vampire, such as drinking human blood.

Lorraine will likely offer her blood for Rentt to become a vampire. Rentt can use his healing magic to cover up any wounds he deals with Lorraine, so it won’t be a problem for her to offer blood. If Rentt becomes a vampire, he could unlock new abilities and reach closer to his goal.

Rentt wanders around the dungeon, trying to find an exit, but is completely trapped in the boss’s room. Rentt knows that he must defeat the giant skeleton to escape. By charging his spirit energy into the sword, Rentt crushes the skeleton’s skull.

The adventurer wakes up after Rentt uses his healing magic and is astonished that the Giant Skeleton was defeated. Rentt gives the essence stone to the adventurer in exchange for his help purchasing things from the guild and shops.

Rentt is the only one who can see the magic circles in the dungeon. The Labyrinth has two circles one to enter deeper and one to exit. For the day, Rentt and the adventurer return to the town. After entering Lorraine’s house, Rentt hugs her.

Lorraine asks Rentt what’s happening, but Rentt suddenly bites her on the neck. Rentt takes a bite out of her flesh and entirely loses control. Lorraine uses her ability to suspend Rentt and put him to sleep. After Rentt wakes up, Lorraine asks whether he was placed under control.

Lorraine says she expected Rentt to do this eventually since ghouls crave human flesh. Rentt uses his healing divinity to seal the wound and remove all the pain. The cursed mask starts responding to Rentt’s desires. Lorraine assumes that Rentt had another existential evolution.

Lorraine says that Rentt is closer to a ghast now, a vampire servant. Lorraine starts talking about her theory on existential evolution. Lorraine says that the key to evolution is the desire of the monster. Rentt wants to become human; a vampire is closer to a human than other monsters.

Lorraine says that if Rentt keeps evolving, he could reach the form of a vampire and then maybe even a human. However, there are some conditions for Rentt to evolve again. Lorraine gets excited about doing experiments on Rentt’s body, but he’s too tired to do anything without rest.

Rentt returns to Clope with his broken sword and tells him about the giant skeleton. Since he faces higher-level monsters, Clope gives Rentt a better sword in the Labyrinth.

Rentt Faina is an adventurer with a decade of experience but is stuck to a lower rank because of a lack of innate talent. One day, while exploring a dungeon, he encounters a dragon who eats him.
