2. Episode 5 Speculation
While the journey to find the Spear Hero almost ended in a massacre, in the end, Naofumi was still able to locate him and guarantee his help in the Phoenix fight.
Considering his new obsession with Filo, it feels like the Spear Hero may just end up joining Naofumi’s party in the end.
With both the Spear Hero and Sword Hero located, finding the Bow Hero will be the next course of action. It would make sense to try and convince him to help with the upcoming Phoenix attack as well.
3. Episode 4 Recap
Along with Motoyasu’s resurgence, the Queen discloses that Ren’s companions were all murdered and that Myne is still missing. Naofumi comes across an unfamiliar girl named S’yne in Seyatte, whom Filo recognizes as a murder crow.
She requests to join the village , but he refuses since he does not trust her. Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo travel to a nearby city, where they see a depressed Motoyasu wanting to reunite with an old party member, Elena.
Naofumi attempts to speak with him, but he flees, so he asks Elena about what happened. She explained that they went to battle the Spirit Tortoise first, but when they saw Motoyasu wouldn’t be able to destroy it, they abandoned him.
Naofumi meets Ren at a local pub, whose party members were all killed when they tried to fight the tortoise; nevertheless, he refuses to accept responsibility and blames them for being too weak.
Naofumi tries to reason with him, but it is all upended by the sudden arrival of Myne, who easily manipulates Ren into believing Naofumi to be the cause of everything, as well as claiming Motoyasu assaulted her too.
She also reveals that she somehow blocked the influence of her slave crest. Ren goes mad and starts wildly attacking Naofumi before escaping with Myne.
As a result of being painfully rejected by Myne, Motoyasu drowns in a depressive spiral until seeing Filo dance rejuvenates his spirits. Now completely obsessed with Filo, Motoyasu begs Naofumi for her, so they knock him out and leave.

Tate no Yusha no Nariagari or The Rising of the Shield Hero is an isekai light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi. It was initially published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from 2012 to 2015.
