The Rings of Power Season 2 – More Rings, More Trouble!

The second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will see more rings forged by the elven smiths. Season 1 showed the mighty rings in the final episode when Celebrimbor and his fellow elves crafted three rings with the aid of Halbrand, the Dark Lord Sauron in disguise.

The three rings were meant to preserve the elves and their lands from fading and departing Middle earth. The season ended with Celebrimbor, Galadriel, and Elrond gazing at the three rings with absolute awe.

According to TV Insider, Morfydd Clark has confirmed that more of those mighty rings will be forged in season 2.

The other ring-bearers among the elves in the tales of Tolkien are Gil-Galad, the High King who appeared in the first season, and Círdan, the Master of Ships, who will join the cast in The Rings of Power season 2.

The One Ring

The Lord of the Rings tells us that three great rings went to the elves, seven to the dwarf lords, and nine to the kings of men.

The elven rings are already forged, but the dwarves or the men might get theirs in The Rings of Power season 2.

Two of the seven could go to Durin IV and his father, Durin III, who are friends of Elrond. The nine men could also get their rings in The Rings of Power season 2, and we could see them turn into the Dark Lord’s slaves, the Nazgul.

There is also the supreme Ring of Power, the One Ring that binds them all that Sauron crafts in secret and will not be undone for ages.

Halbrand is revealed to be Sauron, and The Rings of Power season 1 closed with him entering the land called Mordor. Thus, season 2 could show Sauron forging the One Ring in the flames of Mount Doom.

Besides those Rings, there is a possibility that Rings of Power season 2 will feature more than the known 20 rings. Tolkien wrote in The Silmarillion that the elves forged “many rings” with Sauron’s help. Celebrimbor now has the skill to craft such rings, and if they can truly preserve the elves from fading and leaving Middle earth, he could make more than the three already done.

The indication of more rings being made suggests that The Rings of Power will truly live up to its name.
