After retrieving him, they manage to make it back to their timeline, thanks to LaMarr’s suggestion. As the ship is stationed for repairs, Mercer and Grayson tell Malloy the truth of what had happened. Will the Kaylon attack again in pursuit of the device?

The Orville Season 3 Episode 6 Recap
LaMarr and Isaac show Mercer and Grayson the updates they made to the Aronov device. LaMarr uses a sandwich to demonstrate the machine’s capability by sending it back in time and then forward three months.
Upon learning of the Aronov device, Perry plans a mission to escort the Orville to the high-security research base in Sabik Three to ensure the device doesn’t fall into the hands of the Krill or the Kaylon.
They arrive at the research base and are intercepted by the Kaylon, who demand the device from them. The crew realizes that Malloy is missing and Isaac detects a signal from him from the year 2015. They make the time jump to follow him into the past but end up arriving in 2025, with Malloy already having spent ten years in the 21st century.
Mercer and Grayson find Malloy at an airport and he’s shocked to see that they came to rescue him after all this time. Malloy seems happy with his life in this timeline and has a wife and a kid.
He tells Mercer and Grayson that he doesn’t wish to go back and they remind him that he’s under oath to not interfere with any timeline. Laura overhears this conversation and Malloy comes clean to her about being from the future.
