The episode begins with Teleya meeting with Moclan delegates. After the Moclan’s expulsion from the Union, there are talks of an alliance between the Krill and Moclan. Meanwhile, the Union has an encounter with Kaylon as they are now in possession of a special weapon that targets Kaylon’s weaknesses.
Grayson, Mercer, Burke, and Isaac have a discussion with Admiral Halsey about the device’s capabilities. While Burke is of the opinion that they should upgrade the device to wipe out the Kaylon, Mercer cites the ethical ramifications of committing species genocide. After a tense discussion, they agree to use the device as a political bargaining chip.
Halsey gives the Kaylon an ultimatum—either they put an end to the violence they’ve been inflicting or they will be wiped out with the device whose capabilities the Union has already demonstrated. This strategy is successful, as the Kaylon agree to an armistice. However, things take a turn when the device is stolen from Union Headquarters.
